Success Not Beyond Your Reach
By Adenuga Sunday Joseph

Victory is available for every child of God but it’s not free. In life, you can’t get something for nothing. From my own perspective, the first secret in the school of success is "there is no such reality as something for nothing" – Napoleon Hill. Many people fail because they want success, they want victory, they want wealth and yet they are not prepared to give it what it takes. It takes something to be rich, when I say it takes, I mean life demand something from you in order for it to release success to you. If you study life, you’ll find out that life is both stingy and generous. Stingy to those who are not ready and willing to give it what it demands for it to release abundance to them. The demand of life seem to some too hard, they are not prepared to go the whole hog. Those who are ready to give life what it takes to succeed, those who know that success is not free, it demands a lot, they give life their all, in order to receive abundance from life. To them life is generous: because they know the secret of "give and it shall be given unto you".
To get in life, you must be prepared to give. To be something/somebody in life, you must do certain things, if you cannot do what is demanded of what you desire to be, you can never be it. There is a prize to be paid by anybody who desires to be great in life.
Education is good, but it has little or nothing to do with wealth acquisition. Even if you are not well educated, you can still make it in life. Many millionaires of our time are not graduates of universities. Riches are not beyond your reach; you can be as rich as you ever wanted to be. Nothing can stop you from being rich, only you can stop yourself.
I want you to know that you too can make it as much as anybody you’ve ever known, if not better. You have what it takes, give it and you shall receive. Read Proverb 10:4
He becometh poor that dealeth with slack hand: but the hand of the diligent maketh rich.
From the scriptures above, you will understand (if you think well) that no one was born poor or rich. People become poor or make riches on earth. No one was born rich or poor, you make riches or become poor. See this, and understand it well.
To become means to turn to something that was not originally.
Example, the book you’re reading is made of paper, which was originally a tree in the forest. The tree was chopped, processed and it becomes paper. When the Bible says, "he becometh poor", God means to let you know that people were not destined to be poor, but they become poor as a result of going through a process; the process is called laziness. "The hand of the diligent maketh rich", if you are hardworking, no matter who you are, no matter where you live, you shall make or become rich. Do you know that being born to a rich family doesn’t make you automatically rich at the end of life? The richest men that ever lived mostly come from poor families.
Laziness is the most powerful ingredient in the soup of failure. Stop and think what do you want to become? Rich? Or Poor? I don’t care how old you may be now, if you will change your attitude (of laziness) you can still become successful, you can still fulfill your destiny, you can still make it in life.
The bible says that God worked hard for six days, he had to set the seventh day apart to rest. Our lord Jesus said, my father worketh hitherto and I work. If God is working, who are you? Jesus worked hard (see John 4:34, John 5:17).
Do you know what made Apostle Paul thick? He worked harder than all the other Apostles put together, he wrote about two-third of the New Testament. Hard work was the secret behind the success of Paul.
With hard work, if you start now, before long you will begin to observe yourself going from a nobody to a powerful influence around the world. Paul said it in II Corinthians.11: 23 and I Corinthians. 15:10 that he labored more abundantly than all other Apostles. One of the greatest men I love and respect as a mentor said, he hardly sleeps for more than four hours a day. Talk about success, it doesn’t come anyhow it comes by pressing (through hard work)
I went by the field of the slothful, and by the vineyard of the man void of understanding:
And lo, it was all grown over with thorns, and nettles had covered the face thereof, and the stonewall thereof was broken down.
Then I saw, and considered it well: I looked upon it, and received instruction.
Yet a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep:
So shall thy poverty come as one that travaileth, and thy want as an armed man?
Study the above scriptures and you will appreciate at one’s that failure comes by sleeping too much and by laziness. Please, wake up. Success is in you, draw it out by laboring fervently – understand? Put your hand to work, put your mind to work then God will be at work to make you a success.
The Higher You Go the Cooler it becomes
There are very few people at the top, so it’s cool up there, but the bottom is overcrowded and congested. Many people are not ready to do what it takes to get to the top. Let me try to analyze to you what I mean. In Nigeria, we have about one hundred million people, from the political point of view, only about less than ten thousand of these were elected as Local Government Councilors: we have less than eight hundred people elected as Local Government Chairmen: less than five hundred people as members of the house of representatives, we have only about one hundred and three Senators, thirty-six Governors and only one President. Politically speaking, you can see the trend, the higher the position, the fewer the number of people that were elected. This is the situation in the real life, winners in life’s battles are always fewer in number than looser. Why is it so? I’ve explained the reason in so many ways in this article. Many are trusting to luck or hope that something unexpected will turn up to solve their problems or save the situation – that will never happen.
