Succeeding in life inspite of all odds

I have learnt from experience and the word of God that life is full of battles. While in secondary school and learning about the force of gravity, I never ceased to wonder what was on earth pulling everything down. Looking up to see an airplane in the sky flying, I took knowledge to understand that a greater power (force) than that of gravity must be responsible to keep the air- plane in the sky and not only that, to also keep it moving. I was able to deduce that there are forces on earth but there are greater forces. To get a job done, you must of necessity exercise a greater force, apply power against the forces of life that tends to disturb you from getting the job done, this is the battle of life I am talking about – applying greater power over problems.
The earlier you know that life is full of battles, the better for you. This knowledge will eliminate in your life the ignorance that falls people into the pit of failure and abandon poverty. No matter how you look at life, you will observe that there are forces in place that makes it tough for you to have things (especially good things) on the bed of roses.
The battle of life starts from conception of a yet to be born baby. Consider the about 500 million sperms released by your father to fertilize just one egg in your mother’s womb. All the sperms make a dash to the egg, the smartest, the fastest, the God ordained seed (i.e. you) made it to the egg; you happened to make it finally after a lot of ‘fighting’ or let me say ‘struggle’ or better still ‘competition’. It was a battle you know? But by God’s purpose and intension, you won. The implication is that more than 499 million sperms (of the same specie and source as you) died in the battle. Infact, exactly about 499,999,999 sperms died in the battle of making it to planet earth. In the real world, ‘the failure’ or the ‘war casualties’ do always outnumber the successful or the winners in life’s battles. The reason is because many falls in life’s battle because they are ignorant of the battle of life, many are not aware of this battle we are talking about. The sad thing is that ignorance is not an excuse for failure, no, not even in law.
Let me give you the example of an ancient man, living in an uncivilized society, he was suddenly brought into the city, as he passed by, he saw a pole where electric cable was hanging with electricity running. This man, been ancient touched the cable; he was immediately electrocuted. The electricity did not pity this man’s ignorance and spare him the pain of death. The electricity has done the damage never considering the ignorance of this man just coming into a civilized word. Infact the more ignorant you are of the battles of life, the easier it is for you to be run over, to be overcome and overpowered.
At birth, the battle of life continues, the child cries and weeps. Why? There is a change of environment, the child seem to feel the impact of the battle of life. As the child grows, there is the placenta problem; the teething problem, all these are battles. Talk of the time the child begins to crawl, learning to walk, think about the care the child will need at this stage of development. How many children have died as a result of negligence, we’ve heard of children electrocuted, crawled into a well and perished inside the well, get burned to death, drink acid as a result of not been properly taken care of. Talk about battles – battle of life is real, no one is exempted the Bible says in Proverbs. 22:6
Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.
This training is very important if you want that child to grow up to be a winner in life. This is so because life never provides anybody with perfect situation, a problem comes after a victory is won over another. Are you ready for this? Most successful leaders will tell you that every mountain surmounted always brings with the victory some challenges. That is why it is easier to get to the top than to maintain the top position. Those at the top are faced with more challenges of life.
Let’s consider some of the battles of life that is so common to man everywhere. Let’s start from our school experience. As a teacher, I’ve seen most children’s first day in school; it’s not always easy to get that child to part with mum. The child faces a new situation (school), the child needs to learn new things, learn to read, write, and behave. Those who are teachers of children will agree with me that the hardest job on earth is to bring up children. But the love of the profession constrains us to do it with all joy, learning is like a battle to the young child, it is like Mount Everest. After a little time the child begins to master some things and the interests begin to rise, at this stage a genius might be made/born.
Some have won the battle, some are millionaires, but surely many are still struggling. Why is it that some triumph over life almost effortlessly and some struggle and struggle and even die struggling? This book is out to show you from the word of God, what you too can do to get to the level of success and stay there. You are about to discover the secret of life that (if you follow it faithfully) will change you and make you to be an all round winner in life.
There is battle of getting the right partner to marry, many have married the wrong spouses and have become failures in life. Even some ministries have been negatively affected as a result of marriage battles (in the minister’s life). You can win over this aspect of life too. What of those who did not miss it in choosing the right partner but are finding it difficult to get the fruit of the womb. I have seen a brother and sister (who were both virgins as at the day of wedding), but were childless for more than seven years of marriage – talk about battles. It is not warfare between tribes and nations. It is the battle of life everyone must face. All of us will face his/her own, who you are will determine the outcome of the battle. I John 4:4 states "You are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you than he that is in the world".
You have overcome them. Who are the "them"? "Them" are the forces of wickedness; the sicknesses; the diseases; the death; the poverty and lack, and all forms of evil that are constantly battling with you.
Some are so bound by sicknesses and diseases that their lives are almost at a stand still. To them, life’s battles start and end in sickness; if they are healed; they think they can never have problems again. Wait until they are healed, another problem set in (of different nature), they begin to pray again, run here and there and yet after they get the victory on that one, not too soon, another problem come. You want to know the facts of life? Life is full of battles, no matter who you are and where you live, the battle is the same, to pull you down (much like the force of gravity). The purpose of life’s battles is to humble you, run you down and put you to shame. Like the aeroplane, you must be up and be sustained in that up position, keep moving, I mean keep flying, displacing the forces of gravitation attraction of problems.
What have you learnt so far? Life is full of battles, everyone must face his, and no one is exempted from these battles. Eccl. 9:11 states
"… That the race is not to the swift nor the battle to the strong".
The strongest men do not always win the battle. I know a lady who told me she has had about eighteen abortions before she got married, when she got married, she gave birth to a baby boy. Five years after, she had three more children, and as far as fruit of the womb is concerned, she never had a problem. I have also seen sisters who were actually virgins before they got married but had problems before getting just one child. The battle is not to the strong, the race is not to the fastest runner. The one who wins must be divinely favored and supernaturally supported.
There are battles, but you can overcome. God knew that there are battles but He has given you victory. Read Deuteronomy 2:24
Rise ye up, take your journey, and pass over the river Arnon: behold, I have given into thine hand Sihon the Amorite, king of Heshbon, and his land: begin to possess it and contend with him in BATTLE
God spoke to the children of Israel, I have given you Heshbon land but you need to CONTEND in battle to get it. It is yours, I have given it to you, but you must FIGHT to get it.
If God opens your understanding, and you believe this, you will know that God is saying ‘victory is yours in life’s battle but you have a part to play which no man can help you, only you can’. God is saying, ‘you have victory, I have given it to you, possess it, but go out and fight to own it’.
Success is sure but it is not free, whoever talks about effortless success is deceiving you. No success is free or cheap, "there is a price to pay" is what God is saying. Jesus said in Rev. 3:8
"… Behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it; …"
You are favored by God to win the battle, the door of blessing is opened before you, and no man can shut it. Devil cannot, principalities do not have the power, no, not Angels, not life, not death Rom. 8: 38,39. YOU ARE THE ONLY FORCE that can shut that door against yourself. Once you shut it, you can plead for mercy and open it again but know this – NO ONE can shut it, only you can. Yes, only you through ignorance, through laziness, through negative confession, through negative thinking, through failure mentality, through lack of faith, through doubt, through not obeying the word of the Lord. You can shut the door to your success and there is nothing God can do to help you once you’ve decided to shut that door – then, it’s a pity.
Many ‘trees’ have died as a ‘seed’, ‘many vice chancellor of universities have roasted away as ‘primary school teachers’, many great men have died as ordinary paupers because they shut the door that Christ opened for them.
Look at yourself inside out; Are you a big tree in the seed form? Please don’t die a seed, you can become a big tree but listen, the seed must be planted first, and then it will germinate and become a tree as you nurture it. Do something with your life, make it count, be ready for changes, God has a place for you at the top. True, there are battles in life, but you can overcome them because greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world.
On the other, hand if you are not born again the one in you is smaller than the devil. You have the nature of the falling man (devil) and you do not have the spiritual ability to overcome the evil one, and can therefore never win in life’s battle. The greatest opponents in life’s battle have their origin from the devil. If you are under the devil it naturally follows that you cannot win over your master. Since the devil is your master, he is wiser than you; he knows the tactics and how to turn the battle against you. The only way out is for you to give your life unto Jesus, the author and the finisher of your faith, open the door of your heart to Him to come in and dine with you forever. Then you can be sure that ‘Greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world’. (See also Colossians 1:13,14)
If you make the decision today to accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, pray this prayer: -
Heavenly Father, thank you for loving me so much that you sent your only begotten son to die for my sin. I realize that I am a sinner doomed for death, and eternal damnation. I hereby accept your offer of life through our Lord Jesus Christ; I open the doors of my heart to you Lord Jesus. I know that you died for me even though you never sinned so that I can be free from the penalty of sin. Thank you for loving me and forgiving me my sin.
NOW THAT YOU ARE SAvED
I heartily congratulate you. Please write me so that I can send you the materials that will help you to grow in the Lord. Your testimony will encourage others; write me today to share with me how this book has helped you to make this decision. I love you. Congratulation one’s again
