Taking control of the situation does not imply that everything will go as you planned, but whichever way it goes you remain strong and positive. "You are of GOD and have overcome them, because greater is HE that is in you than he that is in the world".
Taking control of any situation is your responsibility because you can do it. You are bigger than the enemy, you are loved by GOD, the One that is greater than the greatest and so be bold. HE is always by your side, even the devil is afraid of you but you dont know and that is why you fear him.
