It is written in the Bible that money answers all things, and considering the way life stands as at today that statement seem to be absolutely true. When we consider the fact that money is needed for any developmental project embarked upon by any individual or group, even nations that do not have lots of money are seen as undeveloped ans so they are called and rated as third world. Have you observed that no matter how intelligent a man is, if he does not have money, nobody respects or pay attention to him?

In this write-up, I do not intend to pitch my tent against this biblical statement known to be a truth that transcend ages, but I hope to let you see the fact that money, as important as it is in human affairs is not everything. This implies that you do not need to look for money so desperately that you can do anything to get it, it should not be a do or die affair. The craze for more money has turned many hitherto good people to criminals and the prison houses are congested because of these categories of people.

The truth is that money is good but it is not everything, the above Bible quotation is always quoted out of context. The statement preceding that was "As feast is made for laughter so money answers all things" meaning that all things that pertaining to making a feast grand and gorgeous are attached to money.

Money cannot answer all things the way many people believe it today, money cannot buy love, money cannot give you joy, yes, it can give you temporary happiness not everlasting joy. Money cannot buy you life when you are ready to die otherwise many rich people would live forever, this tells you that money does not and cannot answer all things. As you need more and more money to live a better life, think not on how to get money by all means with a desperate stance, not minding who is cheated or offended in your quest for more money.

Go about amassing wealth with good plans to help other people to solve their problems whereby they will gladly be willing and ready to part with their money because they know you are helping them become better, so they too will not spare their money to help you succeed as much you want. You can make as much money as any human being has ever made on planet earth but your plans to earn money must be good, smart and come with a solution to human problems otherwise, the money will soon stop coming in.

The Highest Paying Job Ever

Which is the highest paying job? Which profession is the best, that will guarantee a very high pay? Some people think that money comes based on the profession chosen, or that it is the job that you do that determines how rich you will ever be. Initially, I also agreed with that assertion, that it is your job that determines how rich you will be. I thought that some types of job will authomatically make you rich while some cannot help you to go beyound the level of "Just Enough".

As I considered the rich people in my environment, I was shocked to discover that riches has nothing to do with jobs or position held or even the profession chosen by any man. I have seen medical doctors living a little above average while common pepper sellers are living in affluence. I have seen some lawyer struggling to survive while common cobblers are rising from the level of nothingness to the level of movers and shakers of society. Wealth acquisition is not tied to any profession or work, it is tied to the heart of the man. It is not your profession that determines how rich you will be, it is the YOU inside that determines these things.

The highest paid jobs are determined not by the jobs but by the person behind the jobs. This is the reason we have very rich lawyers and poor ones; we have extremely rich doctors and poor ones; we have rich school teachers and poor ones, and so for any profession you may ever think of. People have made a good success of seemingly unattractive jobs and profession. The story of a man who started out in Lagos, Nigeria as a packer (and disposer) of dung (human wastes), a type of job considered to be the basest of all, not even a school drop out will consider that type of dirty, low paying job. This man kept faithfully at his job, he later began to use trucks to evercuate congested sockaways, and since he was ever faithful and loves his job, he became a multi-millionaire, a financial position envied now by many doctors and lawyers. He has employed hundreds of people, qualified doctors, accountants, and many other professioners are on his pay-roll.

What job are you presently doing? It is the highest paying job if you want it to be so and are determined to give it what it takes to be that way. Highest paid jobs do not fall on anybody from heaven like a riped cherry, people work smart at it to make it what they want it to be. In this issue, I want to concentrate on what the purpose of life should be since this is the only foundation for successful living on earth. No man can be successful in any venture without having a clear cut goal and purpose in that area of endeavor, it is the clear purpose that points to you how far you have gone. Life is not complete and you cannot be fulfilled without having a definite purpose you have to pursue.

Let us start this study by casting our minds back to the first few generations of human beings on planet earth. You may not know how they were, but your imagination can help you to understand the point I am proving here. Those who lived in the first few generations had more problems and challenges than those in this generation, considering the fact that they do not have any of the conviniences we freely have these days.

Can you imagine a generation where there were no cutlasses, hoes, knives, plates to serve ditches. Earlier generations did not even have the opportunity of using fire, clothes, modern medicine, there were no schools, hospitals, law courts, stadium, roads, motor vehicles, electricity, rail roads, trains or trams, not to even mention airplanes. A society where is is no modern means of communication like cell phones, fax, tele-conference, internet facilities and so on. You can continue to think and mention so many things that generation of human being have invented and developed in the past few years. One hundred years ago, many impossible things are now toys that little children can operate with ease.

Generations of human being have come and gone and each generation is leaving the world better that they met it. We know that there are a few people here and there who came to destroy and spoil things that other good people are doing or building. The intension of this write-up is to gear you up; to engineer you; to challenge you to be among those human being who will contribute something of note that will make the coming generation of human beings better and happier than those of this generation. It is in view of this assertion that I want to write seven points which I believe should be the purpose of everybody who want to be successful and leave a footmark on the sand of time. These seven purposes of life are reasonable and full of wisdom and if followed, you can not fail now and in the world to come.

The first purpose is for you to know your God. The Bible says, "...The people that do know their God shall be strong and do exploit". This knowledge of God is very crucial to everything that you do on planet earth, for it will determine your destiny here on earth and your destiny when you depart from this world. In part one of this series, I explained this fact much more elaborately, you can try to look for the part one and read it again for a better understanding.

The second purpose you must understand is that God intends that all life should reproduce after its kind. This mean that dogs will continue to increase and multiply in the dog life and no cross breeding of different life. God is not happy for a man or woman to sleep with dog or horse, it stinks in the nostries of God. It is God's joy for you to increase and multiply not only biologically but also physically, materially, and spiritually.

The third purpose of life is for relationship. We need to relate with our God and with our fellow human beings. This is the place for kindness and friendship, you need to know that you are created to be kind to other people. God is concerned about how you treat other people; the way you relate with them, those higher in rank and/or status, those below you and those of the same level. Part of this involves helping people to become better and not bitter, sometimes the only thing another person need from you is smiles, sometimes it is an ordinary word 'thank you', sometimes it is just a visit of solidarity. God who said, "It is not good for man to be alone" means business and knows that no man can ever be fulfilled alone; we need other people to make useful contributions to our lives and we need to do the same for others.

The fourth purpose of life is for you to be fruitfull, multiply, replenish the earth, subdue it and have dominion over all your world. These are the five fold blessing God gave to you and me to fulfill and it becomes our responsibility to make these good in our lives. This is the reason I do not support abortion in any way. Nobody knows the exact time a child is formed in the womb, sometimes you think you have it, and then its not there, and sometimes its there, you even continue to experience your monthly period and yet you are two or three months pregnant. God Himself is invoved in that conception, why dont you give that baby a chance to live; you may be on your way to aborting the next president of your nation. God intends that we increase biologically and financially, He wants you to succeed.

The fifth purpose is for you to be good both in character and the works of your hand. By this I mean God wants you to be good to yourself. Whereas in the third purpose, God wants you to be good to others, in the fifth, He wants you to be good to yourself by behaving well, living a holy life.

The sixth purpose of God's intention for your life is to discover your own assignment and do it with all your heart and mind. Have you considered the fact that God finished the creation of the world with many potentials for the sons of men to develop His creation. He did not create the roads, the computers, the rail roads, the trains and so on. We have a much developed world today because different people have come at different times to discover their purpose and do it for the betterment of our world. The question now is this, What is your own contribution to the world? You can only have a meaningful contribution to this world when you discover that 'thing' God brought you here to accomplish: otherwise, it will end up being a wasted life which I pray will never happen to you.

The seventh purpose of God for your life here on earth is for you to glorify Him in all you do. The Bible says, "God inhabit the praises of HIS people".

In part one of this series I drove in the point that Jesus Christ is "The Life", and this is not my own opinion but what God said in the Bible and I believe it. In this article, I want to begin the exploration of this important topic by going to the origin of life itself. You have to understand the fact that God is the origin and source of all form of life: He is the beginning and the end; the Alpha and Omega; the First and the Last; the Creator of all things and beings physical and spiritual. When you understand this point then it will be easier for you to have a good understanding of life, and the purpose of life.

Were you created the day you were born or the day your dad's sperm fertilized the egg inside your mum's womb? The Bible tells us that Jeremiah was known by God, called by Him and ordained to be a prophet to the nations even before he was formed in his mother's womb, and I know this is true of many people including you. See Jeremiah 1:4,5. Infact God said, "before I formed thee in the belly" meaning that God Himself formed people in their mother's womb, and he knows them before forming them. Samson's life was revealed to his mother before she ever conceived him: Jacob and Essau were well known to God before they were born hence God said, "Jacob have I loved and Essau have I hated". The truth is very clear, YOU existed before you were ever born. This is the truth of life you have to grapple with and understand well, and also that, departure from this phisical world is not the end of you or any body else who is human. Man cannot ever cease to exist, he is alive somewhere in the spirit or in the physical for as long as only God knows when.

Study the Bible very well and you will understand that God have you in mind before the foundation of the earth. Let's read Ephessians 1:4

"According as He has chosen us in him before the foundation of the world..."

You issued out from Him. It is a fact that you got your life from your parents, they got their's from your grand parents, and so on till we get to the first parents on earth. The first parents were Adam and Eve, these first parents got their lives from God. We are told in Job 33:4 that, "The Spirit of God hath made me, and the breath of the Almighty hath given me life". For better understanding of the above point from the Bible, see also Job 34:12-15. The understanding of this point is the beginning of knowing the meaning of life and its purpose and this is wisdom.

You really need to work on yourself to love the Lord because you are an extention of Him, you are his and you are from his bossom. The fact that you belong to Him should thrill you, but I am more thrilled to know that I am of God (1John 4:4). When he says that you are of God He is saying that you are made of God's stuff; you are made of God's properties or materials; meaning that you matter, no matter what anybody thinks or says, pure and simple. You are not only God's property, you also carry part of God's breath, you are not ordinary. There is something about you that the enemy hate, it is the great thing that God put inside you, it is the life that I am writing about in this article. There is a reason why God gave you this life, use it to the glory of God.

This life is broad and nobody can understand everything in this world, we know in part, but you cannot afford not to have some basic understanding of your life. You are what you know; you operate at the level of your knowledge; nobody can perform beyond his actual knowledge. You are limited in life by your knowledge, for example when I gave my mum who never went to school a laptop computer, she couldnt use it because she didnt know anything about it, she was limited or couldnt enjoy this technology and the internet facilities I put into it because of her limited knowledge. I hope you understand the point I am trying to prove here. This is the reason you must have some basic understanding of life so that you can master some aspect of it and that is the reason for this series of articles to help you; to open you up to success; to open you up to wisdom.

Let me drive home the point here once again that you existed before you were born and you will continue to exist after departing from this world, an experience we call death. So you have to take heed to the way you live your life because it matters and can affect your existence in the next world. Nothing that is done goes un-noticed; all things done by you is recorded somehow for or against you and there is a record for all spoken words and actions. To this end, as I round up this article, I want to charge you to do the good you can now, do your best, help people, speak kindly to them for all these things matter.

This Life 1

One dictionary defines life as "The union of soul and body" but this definition may not adequately describe plant life. Another definition was put up as "the state of been alive" yet another definition says "it is the period between birth and death". Life is described by another dictionary as "the property of a plant or animal that involves growth, nutrition, respiration and reproduction.

Looking into the Bible I saw another definition in John 14: 6 Jesus said, "I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life". Here we see that Jesus is THE LIFE, not a life. After a lot of studies of the WORD of GOD, I found out that there three kinds of life in existence, they are as follows:

Physical life,
spiritual life,
and eternal life.

Let me explain each of these lives one after the other and show you where each connects and where one depends on the other.

The first one (Physical life) is what many people know, and the scientists have done their best to teach us that there are actually three forms of physical lives and they are plant life, animal life and human life. Animal life is further subdivided into the following, aquatic life which is the lives of animals that live inside the waters, river, lake or ocean; Bird life which comprises of animals with feathers and of which most of them can fly except for bat which is a mammal and yet flies like a bird; Insect life which compass different types of insect in the world; mammals which are animals that feed their young ones with breast; reptiles and so on. The physical life can be seen with our eyes, we can touch and feel it, we can interact with it and have it respond to us as we observe it.

The second type of life is the spiritual life which comprise of living creatures and beings which can not be seen with our physical eyes, even though they are as real as any physical life which can be seen with our physical eyes. The spiritual life is real and can also be felt and interacted with, the spiritual world has a higher dimension than the physical world. The physical world is of three dimension but the spiritual world is of four dimensions. Those living in the spiritual realm are the ones who possess this spiritual life that I am promoting here, these beings are called Angels, some of them are called demons. In the spiritual realm, there can be either the force of good spiritual lives called the Angels and they are in hierarchical order; or the force of bad spiritual lives called the demons which are also in hierarchical order. The Bible talks about principalities, powers, rulers of darkness and spiritual wickedness in heavenly places. See Ephesians 6:12

The third type of life is the eternal life. This is the life of God or as some people calls it, God's type of life. The Greek word for eternal life is "Zoe" which means God's type of life; it is the life of dominion; the winning life. This eternal life is the one that is imparted on you when you give your life to Jesus Christ and accept Him as your Lord and Savior. Eternal life is a gift, it is imparted on man when he accepts Jesus Christ as Lord and master. We read from 1John 5:11,12

"And this is the record, that GOD HAS GIVEN TO US ETERNAL LIFE, and this life is in His Son. He that hath the Son hath life, and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life".

From the above scripture, we gather that number one God has given us eternal life, he has done it already. He is not going to give us, He has given us eternal life, pure and simple. Understand it, belief it, that you have the eternal life now and here. Number two, this life is in God's Son Jesus Christ; and number three, anyone that have the Son of God in him has this eternal life that I am talking about here. If you have accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior then you are already imparted by the zoe, if not; you can just accept Him now into your life as your Lord and Savior, and eternal life will be yours, nothing can be simpler than that.

The Bible says that Jesus Christ is the way, the truth and the life. He is not just talking about physical life but eternal life. He is the only one that can impart this life unto you and it is very easy to get imparted by this life; all you have to do is to accept Him into your life as Lord and Saviour. We also learn from the Bible that all things were created by Jesus and without Him was not anything (physical things and beings) made that was made, see John 1:3,4, Hebrews 1:2, Collossians 1:16,17

WORKING THE WONDERS OF GOD 2

Let me tell you some cold facts about the wonders of God

You have to understand that God doesn't do any of His wonders without using a man. We are never told that God came down at any time to perform any of the wonders or miracles, He always and will continue to find a man He can use to perform these signs and wonders. God is always looking for a man, the Bible says,

"And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found not".

That can be found in the book of Ezekiel 22:30. What is written in Isaiah 59:16 is even more direct,

"And He saw that that was no man, and wondered that there was no intercessor; therefore His hand brought salvation unto Him: and His righteousness, it sustained Him".

When God wanted to preach the gospel of salvation to Cornelius and his household, though an Angel was sent to him, the angel could not preach the gospel, he only told Cornelius to get a man, Peter, to teach him the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. The angel could have easily explain to him the gospel, but in this realm, God uses man to do His works like preaching, teaching, working of miracles, signs and wonders and so on. It is true that God rained down bread from heaven, but Moses was used to do this great miracle.

God cannot work except He uses a man to perform His works. What does this imply? It is very simple, God will always use a man to bless you, He will help you through a man, He will reach out to the world, bless the teaming population of the poor of the earth through an instrument called man, and that man can be you or me. He uses ordinary men like you and me, this is the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth. It doesn't matter how ordinary a man may be, if God has decided to use him, He gives him power, wisdom and grace to perform miracles, signs and wonders: not only that, He backs him up and supports him to do great things no one can ever believe he is ever capable of doing. Once you are chosen, you are instantly given the power to 'bind and loose'; the decreeing power. See Mathew 18:18,19.

Anyone that God will use must be a man of FAITH, for this is the only connection source recognized by heaven. Some of the people God uses to perform signs and wonders got involved with the supernatural through their personal interest, active participation in the things of God. When a man desire to be used by God to perform miracles because of the need to help solve human problems, such a man may be blessed and gifted to perform extra-ordinary miracles that will baffle the greatest critique. Sometimes God is the one who will so much endow a man to be so powerful to perform great feats that are beyond scientific explanations. Such a man may not even be interested in the things of God initially, he may not even know the scripture but when the deed is done and the call is manifested he or she will do well to get educated in biblical studies.

My purpose in writing this article is to help you see the fact that wonders of God are still real today, and that people are still enjoying God's supernatural intervention: that is not all, God is still using ordinary people like you to perform miracles. If I succeed in getting you to see this point, then you will come to a situation where you are ready either to accept and expect the gift of a miracle which may already be on your way. Or you may also be put in a position where you will be ready to allow God to use you to perform a miracle in the lives of people around the world. If the later is the case, then you should be acquinted with the following qualifications for working the wonders of God.

1. Your life must be completely dedicated to God. You must be ready to live a life of total submission to the will of God in all humility and meekness. You will put God first and His kingdom from now on because you will know that God is more than enough to supply all your needs. See Matthew 6:32-34.

2. Your life must be given over to the ministry of the WORD and PRAYER, see Acts 6:2-4. The WORD of God is the power of God, He couldn't do anything without His word, and since you want to work wonders and miracles which only God can perform, then you need His word with which He created the entire world. The word of God is the raw material for miracles, while prayer is the ability to communicate and get God's undivided attention and intervention on any matter. The result of prayer is the direct working of miracles and signs.

Through the instrumentality of prayer, Hannah was blessed with Samuel, one of the greatest prophets of all time. See 1Samuel 1:10-17. Jabez's life and destiny was changed because he prayed to God 1Chronicles 4:9,10. Hezekiah's days on earth were prolonged because he dared to pray. Which miracle is greater than eliminating death and getting healed of a disease that was sure to consume a man? Prayer is so powerful and important that even dry bones in the valley received new flesh, sinews, tissues and life because a man of God just spoke words of faith to them see Ezekiel 37:1-13. No matter what you are facing now, there is a miracle in store for you, I only need you to believe this write up and you can experience a miracle right away.

WORKING THE WONDERS OF GOD 1

We are serving a God of wonders! His words are full of wonders, His acts are all beyond comprehension. He is God indeed, the Omnipotent, the Omniscient and ALMIGHTY; he can do all things. I cannot but wonder at the magnitude of His creation, when I see some mountains and seas, I cannot but wonder at the craftiness and wisdom with which all these things are put together. Consider the vastness of the earth, consider the great natural resources, the animals, the life in the oceans and seas: the fact that the Almighty God made all these things for His pleasure. The North America is so big, I do not think one man can travel the length and breadth of it on foot in one year, not to talk about traveling the whole wide world on foot in a life time . No wonder the Bible says in Ecclesiastes 3:11,

"He hath made everything beautiful in His time: also he hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end".

His wonders are so numerous that no man can find out ALL of His great works in the land of the living. When you consider the stars in their numbers; the fact that we have more than one hundred million galaxies of stars and each galaxy of stars contains more than one hundred billion stars. The milky way is the galaxy that the sun of our solar system belongs have more than one hundred billion stars, the sun is just one of those stars. There are many stars in the galaxy that are far bigger than the sun, and yet the sun is many times bigger than our earth. All these things are created by the Almighty God. This knowledge should make you fear God the more: it should drive you to want to know Him more: it should drive you to love Him more that He still count you worthy to be created in His own image.

let's take a look at some of the great wonders God had performed among the sons of men in days gone by to appreciate some of the claims I am making in this write-up.

1. God rained down a type of bread called manna from heaven for the people of Israel for about forty years see Exodus 16:14. When you consider the fact that one of the physical laws of nature states that matter is neither created nor destroyed and in a way it is absolutely true as far as the physical world is concerned, even the Bible confirms this law in the book of Ecclesiastes 3:15. God had to suspend this law by creating matter out of nothingness, He gave them bread from heaven an action which no man can explain scientifically; an action which defiles logic of any sort.

2. He is the God that answered by fire to honor Elijah His servant at Mount carmel see 2kings 18:30-39. Elijah had earlier asked that a lot of water be put into the sacrifice, yet the fire licked up the water. No science can explain the falling down of fire from heaven, an effect without a cause other than prayer. This should teach you that prayer is the greatest cause that can produce the greatest effect in this life. With the cause of prayer there was the effect of fire from on high, truly He is the God of wonders.

3. Jesus fed five thousand men excluding women and children with only five loaves and two fishes, and they were able to gather remnants that fill up twelve baskets. What a God of wonders. Read the whole story in John 6:5-12

4. Peter and John healed a man born lame see Acts 3:1-10. They met him on their way to the beautiful Temple at Jerusalem and offered him not silver or gold but the name of Jesus Christ which never stopped working wonders. The result was glorious, the man began to walk, and leap and praise God. There was no way anybody could afford not to notice the miracles, even their greatest critiques agreed that it was an undeniable miracle. The God of wonders is still around; He is the same yesterday, today and forever more, and he can do a miracle in your life even now.

5. Paul raised a dead man named Eutychus see Acts 20:7-12

I can mention many instances of God's wonders and miracles in the lives of ordinary people in this world. God have privileged us to see many modern day miracles. Miracles are still happening today and I pray that you will experience one even now.

Law of Sowing and Reaping

Let's read from the Bible book of Genesis 8:32

While the earth remaineth, seed time and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease

Also in the Bible book of Galatians 6:7-9, we read

Be not deceived, God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.
For he that soweth to the flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the spirit shall of the spirit reap everlasting
And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap if we faint not.

Seed time and harvest time shall never cease as long as this earth remains. This means that if you plant, you will harvest. No matter how good or bad you are, you will harvest what you planted. Success in life does not answer to been good or holy, it does not respect fasting and prayer alone, it responds only to sowing and reaping. Three things must be continually sown by you if you want to experience a continuous harvest. They are your Time, Talent and Treasure.

Your Time
First it is profitable for you to invest your time for the things of God, then for your family after that your business or work. The more time you give for God, the more favor God gives you, and the more supernatural power of God works on your behalf. Also as you invest quality time on your family, you are able to influence and give your family a good direction. When you invest a very good time for your business, you will become more profficient in that job.

Your Treasure
Giving your money is very essential. You must to God qualitatively and generously. Solomon beyond the normal one big offering, he gave a thousand offerings and God blessed him beyond the normal natural blessings. Give your money, your tithes, sow a big seed into the kingdom of God, these are the spiritual raw materials that goes on to build the pillar of success that no man or force on earth can shake. Bless your pastor, envelop some money and give to him. This is for your own good, you are the one to benefit from such giving, not the one to whom you give, or the one receiving it from you. Financial prosperity answers to giving, not fasting, not a holy life, I sincerely hope you will understand this simple fact of life without distorting it or misunderstanding my point.

I learnt the art of giving from Bishop David Oyedepo through his books and tapes, initially it was difficult for me to understand it. The truthis that the things of God are not meant to be understood, they are meant to be fully believed and obeyed, that is why we are called believers. I then began to sow good seeds into people's lives, the offerings I give began to increase, my tithes became more regular and guess what? God has not ceased to bless me ever since.

Dear Reader, give to God, sow good seeds into the Kingdom and your harvest will be a big one. As you give to God, you must also invest your money into a profitable business venture. You can make it, only let your motive be right, let it be to help others, to proffer solution to their problems, to help meet a need, then in a matter of time you will see yourself becoming a big success in your community. Your financial increase will be unstoppable by any force on earth.

May I suggest that if you are a salary earner, you should begin to think of how you will fire your boss. Think of what you can give to mankind in exchange for their money; think of what you can invest that can yield millions back to you in real time.
David C Joe said that, “you will either resign, retire or be retrenched in your present job” Why wait till you will be retrenched or retired? Why don't you resign now to begin a business; though the beginning may be small, with time and hard work, you can turn that small business into a mighty multinational company.

GIVING YOUR TALENT

You must be ready to give all your talent to whatever you finally decide to be doing as a business. Your all, must be given into that business, your thinking, your energy, all your ability, everything.
Check yourself, which special ability have you found, I mean that thing you find easy and interesting, that is your talent, use it and exploit it to the fullest. That is your rod, that is what will divide the red sea of life before you, use that talent. A lot of things and people will gain from that talent of yours if you properly channel it to the right direction. One day as I was meditating on the word of God, I heard a voice spoke to my heart these words, “I will teach you about the mystery of tongues”. I turned around to see the one who had spoken, seeing no one, I knew the Holy Spirit wanted to teach me something. As I thought about those words, I turned to
Gen 11:1-9
1. And the whole earth was of one language and of one speech...

Language or tongue is a unifying factor on earth. People of the same tongue naturally gravitate to one another, there is a natural affinity or bond between people of the same tongue. In 1988, I participated in the National Youth Service, a Yoruba man, I was called to serve in the Northern part of Nigeria which consist predominantly the Hausa's. Getting to Sokoto, all Yoruba men I saw became automatic friend and close confidants. You will be surprised how we were bounded together just because we were of the same tongue. There were no distinctions, you are Ijebu or Ijesha, I am Ondo – no, we saw ourselves as one; why was it like that? Because we were in the foreign land, the best thing to do is to unite.
All Christians are citizens of heaven, we are here (on earth) as foreigners, as ambassadors of heaven, we must speak our language (faith). Faith is our language, when we speak that language, we understand each other and communicate with home station and we receive help anytime we need it.
The people united together to build the tower of Babel because they are all of one language. The unity and power that comes from it can surmount any problem on earth. They of the then world were so powerful that God said in

Genesis 11:6
6. And the Lord said, Behold, the people is one and they have all one language and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be refrained from them, which they have imagined to do.

The unity that comes from language and tongue results in a very powerful influence that even God acknowledged that “nothing will be restrained from them.
The only solution was for God to bring confusion among them by making them not to speak the same language and tongues again. If that was done, God would now be able to stop them from achieving their purpose.
Who you hear speak to your life goes a long way to affect you. Man is a product of WORDS and so is affected by words (for good or bad).
In I Corinthians 13:1

Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, …

This implies that there are tongues of men (which comprise of different languages) and of course, there are tongues of angels (which we speak anytime we speak in tongues or in divers kinds of tongues).
When you speak in tongues, you are speaking the tongue of angels, you are working in harmony with God’s spirit, you are becoming united, in agreement with the forces of God. When you are constantly doing this, you are generating such powers that make for success in any endeavor in life. When you agree with God in language (faith) and tongues (speaking in the spirit), you are positioned for success unlimited. Let’s see I Corinthians 14:2

For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh no unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; how be it in the spirit he speaketh mysteries.

The mystery of tongues make for success or failure in this world. Speak the tongues of angel and they will help you fix most problems that are seen and unseen they will help you bring your file to God’s table and ensure they help you to have a speedy execution of all your request. They (angels) will naturally gravitate towards you, when you form the habit of speaking in the spirit (or speak in tongues). Like you read earlier, every man will naturally fall in love with his towns man in a foreign country. We are citizens of heaven, we are seated with Jesus Christ in the heavenly places (Ephesians. 2:6), we are in a foreign land, we need to speak our language and tongue to get our people and government to help us succeed in all things. Dear reader, team up with God and His Angels and you will be able to build your success unhindered by any power or force in the universe. Let’s see I Corinthian 14:4

He that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself …

To edify means to build up, when you speak in tongue, you build up yourself, your business or ministry, your home, your children, your health etc.
See also I Corinthians 14:14,15. If you want to hear God’s voice or opinion on any matter learn to speak in tongues often in your prayers (Jude 20), this makes your spirit open and sensitive to God to hear his direction for you life.
We are ambassadors of heaven here on earth; we are not of this world even though we live in this world; we are citizens of heaven. Speaking our language (faith) and tongues (praying in tongues) will attract the forces from our home country (heaven) to come to our aids each time we need support. We always need constant support from home if we must make it to success land and shame the devil in this world. The mystery of tongues is the secret of power. The heavens love and are gravitated towards her citizens who do not forget their home language and tongues. May the Lord give you a good understanding of these things in Jesus name.

The Reward Of Meekness

The Bible says that the meek shall inherit the earth (Psalm 37:11 and Mathew 5:5). Meekness was the magic wand that made Moses to be very successful in his chosen career. If you want to have good success, you must be meek and if you are not, pray for it.
Have you ever considered the reason God picked on Joseph to be the earthy caretaker of our Lord Jesus Christ?
On the 28th of September 1996, I was ministering alongside with Evangelist Gboyega Ajadi in Iree Polytechnic Gospel Student Fellowship and the Lord ministered to me and asked me this question, “have you wondered why I saw it fit to use Joseph to take care of the formative years of Jesus Christ on earth?
The Lord revealed a lot of qualities found in Joseph that qualified him for this privileged position, I will share some of them with you in this book.
In Mathew 1:18 – 25

18. Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise when as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Spirit.

Joseph suddenly discovered that though he had not known Mary, yet she was pregnant. This means, he had not have deep intimate relationship with Mary that may have led to sexual intercourse. He did not know what had happened, we know today because we have read it, and we have learnt about the life of Christ; but back then, Joseph did not know what we know today. He did not know that the child in Mary’s womb was of the Holy Ghost. How many men today will be able to bear that?

19.Then Joseph her husband being a just man

(The Bible says that Joseph was a just man, he was meek and cool- headed and was open to sound reasoning.)

and not willing to make her a public example was minded to put her away privily.

Some men today would be so angry, they could cut off her head, but as Joseph was thinking about it, an Angel appeared to him in a dream to warn him. He did not seek a confirmation, he just believed, he did not despise the dream, he did not demand to hear an audible voice or to see the angel physically in real life like Manoah the father of Samson. He just believed God –it was a simple faith. He did not quote scriptures that, “out of two or three witnesses every word shall be confirmed” He simply believed and obeyed the word or voice of God which happened to be the perfect will of God.
How many people today are led (through dreams) but rejected the dream as a mere thought of their mind. Joseph was obedient to God, it didn’t matter whether God spoke through dream, audible voice, inner still small voice prophecy, a visitation of an Angel, or anyhow else, he just obeyed. He obeyed the angel that God sent to him in the dream – this is meekness. No wonder, God choose to use him to bring up and nurture our Lord Jesus Christ in the flesh.

Joseph acted God, by becoming the father of God’s Son, he was good enough to teach Jesus some basic things of life (humanity).
When they went to Jerusalem the time Jesus was twelve years old, Jesus went to the temple, ‘to be about my father’s business’. They looked for him sorrowing for three days. When he was found, Joseph did not lift up his hand to beat or cane Jesus, many men today would be so angry that the first thing they’ll do would be to slap that child. It was Mary that spoke and said,

“Son, why hast thou thus dealt with us? Behold thy father and I have sought thee sorrowing”.
It was never recorded that Joseph was ever angry (or loose his temper), he never over reacted to the situation, He was a man full of wisdom and understanding. Wisdom is believing God even when you do not understand what He is doing, saying or planning. In Luke 2:50, the bible says

And they understood not the saying (of Jesus) which he spake unto them.

Joseph may not understand but he believed God, yet he did not maltreat Jesus, he loved Jesus for who he was – what a father, much like unto the Almighty God. In the same vein we are not called to understand everything about God or His Word, we are called to believe Him and His word and that is real wisdom. In Mathew 1:25, we read

And knew her not till she had brought forth her first born son; and he called his name Jesus.

Joseph was disciplined enough not to have sex with Mary, they lived together, slept together in the same house yet he did not do it. Everybody knows that it is O.k to have sex with your pregnant wife but Joseph did not. What kind of reward do you think Joseph will receive? Think about the father of Jesus, who had the responsibility of taking care of the Lord, he lived an exemplary life, he did not go about getting drunk, sleeping with girls, lying, cheating etc. He was meek and disciplined that even God (I mean Jesus Christ) could learn from him how to be a good carpenter, he taught ‘God’ so many things in the flesh. He protected our Lord Jesus Christ, took him to Egypt when Herod sought the life of the Saviour. Meekness is the word that described the totality of Joseph’s life.
If you can show yourself a meek man, heaven and earth will see you and recognize you and reward with a sounding success in all your endeavour.
If you study your bible very well, you will understand that Joseph was a very successful carpenter. As the fame of Jesus spread abroad, people wondered as recorded in Mathew 13:55

“Is not this THE CARPENTER’S son? ….”

Joseph was the carpenter of his city, meaning he was the foremost, the most popular, the most successful carpenter. Joseph through meekness was so successful, people traced Jesus back to him, why? This is because Joseph was conspicuously successful, he could not but be noticed.
Some people are so successful today that nobody remembers or recognizes their fathers, because they do not have successful fathers. The father of Jesus was a successful father because of meekness, be meek. A meek man is too gentle to fight, he doesn't know how to argue, he is too pre occupied by his purpose that nothing else mattered. So because of this 'weakness', God Himself have to fight all his battles. A meek man cannot fight: God fights for him. If you can fight and avenge yourself of your enemies, God did not need to fight for you. Moses didn't fight with any man who rose up against him in rebellion, God did. Even when his senior sister Miriam misbehaved to him, God had to teach her a lesson for seven days that you don't toil with a meek man. When you see a meek man be afraid because God Himself is the One fighting for him. So, why not pray for the spirit of meekness now?

The Wonders of Belief or Faith

“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever BELIEVES in HIM should not perish but have everlasting life” John 3: 16.

What is in ‘believing’ Jesus that makes it very important? Why is God’s only demand that simple? In another place the Bible says that, “whosoever believeth in Him shall not be put to shame.” In fact Christians are called believers because, in all the Gospel of Jesus Christ, this word seem to be the strongest. When Jesus was commissioning the disciples, in the book of Mark 16:15-17, we read,

“ Go ye into all the world, and preach the Gospel to every creature. He that BELIEVETH and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be. And these signs shall follow them that BELIEVE: In my name they shall cast out demons; they shall speak in tongues…”

The emphasis in the above passage as in all scripture is believe, the signs shall follow those who believe. These signs are the manifestation of the power of GOD; the power will come upon, and follow only those who believe. Many times, if not in all cases, the only requirement of Jesus from those seeking healing was this, “only believe”. He was always quoted as saying, “be not afraid, only believe”, or “weep no more”; this was said to the widow whose only son just died. And in another situation He said, “If thou canst believe thou shall see the glory of God”.

What is in believing that makes it so thick?

When everybody was pressing hard on Jesus, nothing happened to any of them, but a woman came with faith or believe, that if she could only touch the tip or helm of His cloth, she would be healed. This simple act of believe brought her healing from the Master Healer, the Lord of the universe, Jesus Christ the Anointed One. The force of this faith or believe drew out this virtue or power from the Lord. Many people fast and pray but could not get the job done, but when there is a heartfelt believe or faith, the miracle is always on the scene. Why is ‘believing’ so important? We read in Mark 11: 23,

Verily, verily, I say unto you, whosoever shall say unto this mountain, be thou removed and be thou cast into the sea and shall not doubt in his heart but shall believe that those things which he said shall come to pass he shall have whatsoever he says.

The Holy Spirit opened my understanding to know that the art of believing is the major difference between a successful man and a failure. Faith is the only difference between somebody who receives answer to his prayers and the one who do not. This same faith in God is the only difference between a saint and a sinner. Do you know that nobody will go to hell because of sins like adultery, stealing, killing, etc? People will go to hell because they have refused to believe the son of God, they refuse to believe the testimony of God that have enough power to liberate them from the power of such sins like adultery, stealing, killing, etc.
Please understand this today, it will help you, faith is a very deep and important concept of life. Believing touches the very heart of man, which is the core or center of man; faith is very spiritual, and we are spirit beings. Friend, the only avenue by which we can browse the spiritual realm is through our faith.
Faith in something has a far-reaching effect on man that last beyond this material time and realm. Have you ever seen or heard of a notorious man, maybe an armed robber, or a hard drug addict who gave his life to Jesus Christ? You see the change; it’s so obvious; that change came about because of simple faith in Jesus; that faith has changed his life and destiny. The reason is very simple to understand, you see, the faith touches his heart; your heart is your spirit, your spirit is the real you. Anything that has the power to change the real you can change everything around you: and that thing is faith. Faith flows out from your heart, your spirit and it is capable of changing everything around you called your circumstances.

Enjoying The Grace Of God

God is not partial, except you believe this with all your heart; the devil will succeed in deceiving you and make you to settle for what is less than the best for you. When you know that God is not partial, you will have nothing restraining you, you will know that if God did it for him, then He can also do it for me. When you know this, you will never envy anybody henceforth, this knowledge will make you to celebrate other people’s success because the same God who did it for them can do yours also.

God’s Promises for All

Jesus said in Mathew 28:20, ‘… 10, I am with you always …’. That is to every one of us. He is with you now, even in that problem. “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble” Psalm 46:1. I remember when we were in the primary school; early in the morning the teacher must register all those who were present. From the list, he calls the names of the pupils one by one and we all say present sir, anyone who is absent would not be there to say present sir, rather we would answer on his behalf by saying absent. When the bible says that God is the very present help in trouble, it means that when trouble comes calling, God will answer for you, saying ‘present’. Why? This is so because He is the VERY PRESENT HELP. You have problem(s)? HELP is present.

Please, get this, whenever you have problems or struggles or challenges, know surely that the help you need to solve the problem is present with you. Of course, it may not be conspicuously or glaringly clear, but if you switch inward, it will come out, I mean the help will come out, I mean the help will come out of you clean and clear. So therefore, instead of weeping and seeking for sympathizers, think and meditate on the word of God, he said ‘I AM with you’; He said, ‘I AM the very present help in trouble”. So what’s your problem?

Many are looking for those who will pity them, no, do not look for pity party, they will put you into the pit. Here the word of God, ‘When you pass through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not burned: neither shall the flame kindle upon thee”. Isaiah 43:2. If God is with you and He is, why then are you still looking for sympathizers? Stop weeping; start rejoicing. Stop complaining; start thanking God. He has promised to help you Isaiah 41:10

Your Response to the Troubles

Be bigger than your problem. This is a decision you have to make NOW, do not wait till tomorrow. See yourself as someone who is bigger than that large dept, you are bigger than that sickness, you are bigger than that marriage problems, you are bigger than those needs. I John 4:4 says
“You are of God … and have overcome them because greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world”
There are problems in the world; God is in you. That makes you bigger than any problem, I see them as challenges and I am bigger than them.

You are a spirit, you can never cease to exist, if you die, you will still continue to exist. All those problems, whether physical or spiritual are temporary, they will soon pass away, but you will not pass away, you will not cease to exist, you will live forever (either with God or the devil, the choice is yours). If you will not vanish away form existence and this is the TRUTH; but no matter how long it stays, your problem will vanish one day, then it means you are bigger, better, stronger and more important than your problems. Friend, believe this, you are stronger than that problem: it is too weak to weaken you, wake up the sleeping giant in you. Thomas Edison failed ten thousand times, but he continued and so he succeeded in making incandescent lamp. You are of more value than any amount of money; you are priceless. The best houses that were built two hundred years ago are now out of fashion. Things come and go but your value cannot depreciate.

Nothing Shall Hurt You

Somebody said, “When the going gets tough, the tough gets going” and Robert Schuler said “Tough times never last but tough people do”. If you are tough, as I have recommended for you from the beginning of this book, nothing can stop you.
Jesus Christ our Lord said in Luke 10:19
“Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy and nothing shall by any means hurt you”.
Do you believe this? You have power; Jesus gave you the power the day you got born-again. When got filled with the Holy Spirit, you received a greater dimension of God’s power. You are supper loaded with power. The bible says in Micah 3:8
“But truly I am full of power by the Spirit of the Lord, and of judgment and of might …”
The power to tread on serpent and scorpion is the power to ride victoriously and triumphantly over difficulties and problems of life.
Problems cannot hurt you, they are not that powerful except you give them the power and allow them to hurt you.

There is power within you

1John 4:4 that we quoted earlier gives testimony to the fact that there is something IN YOU that is special. You have to know it and accept it, there is something in you, and it is called power. That thing can solve any problem, that thing can over come every temptation, that thing can make you to achieve all your dreams, that thing is the POWER of God inside you.
You have it, it is there, a giant, which is sleeping, you need to wake it up and let it work for you. If you feed it well, it will cause every people and things to gravitate towards helping you. If you encourage the power within you, it will cause the whole world to stand at attention and pay homage to you. Joshua discovered this power and when he was in battle against Adonizedec, Hoham, Piram, Japhia and Debir, he commanded the sun and the moon to stand still, till he defeated the enemies, the sun and moon stood still for 24 hours. Read the story in Joshua 10:1-14.

Joshua knew that he had that power within him; it doesn’t work for those who do not know it. You have to know it for it to work for you – understand?
If you know this power and you activate it, it will make you to always win in any battle of life. It will make life to say yes instead of no, that was what rescued me in the office of the great man of God that I shared with you in chapter one. That power is in you. Let’s see the scripture in Rom. 8:9-11
But ye are not in the flesh, but in the spirit, if so be that the spirit of God swell in you. Now if any man has not the spirit of Christ, he is none of his.
And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the spirit is life because of righteousness. But if the spirit of Him that raised up Christ from the dead dwell in you, He that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by His spirit that dwelleth in you.

Friend, this is the crux of the matter, the spirit of God dwells in you. You are not ordinary; you carry grace and unction.
If the spirit of God is in you, how dare you say that you are "a nobody"? Come off it friend, you are somebody real and special.
Never should you debase yourself because of problem, you are bigger than that problem. Never consider prostitution as a way out of your present financial crisis, this will mean belittling your big and valuable self.
This is the truth and the Lord knows it, in the face of financial crisis in my life, it is one of my policies to take the problem to God in prayers and after that I rest my case. It is not my custom to go a begging (or go borrow), I don’t beg, I don’t go for loans because my God is more than enough. I think it has to do with what the bible calls contentment. When there is much, I give thanks to God, and when things look dry, you see, I believe God and He has never failed me. Never go down so low as to lower your standard because of things, especially money.

Esau was the firstborn son of Isaac, but because of food, he was ready to sell the right of first born to Jacob. He had that thing called the power of first-born and all the privileges and opportunities attached, but he willingly let go of it only because of food. Never go begging, never consider prostitution; to lie because of money is to under-estimate the power of God. For God’s sake, you are the king’s kid, stop worrying yourself to death.
For me, any condition that refuses to go away will no longer get my attention. I drive out such trials by my negligence of it, why? This is because I see it as nothing to me.

You know, some situations come so strong that if care is not taken, you begin to doubt the WORD. Never in your life doubt the word of God, the word works, yes it works, no matter what you are going through, only the word of God can lead you out of it.

Please note this very carefully, you should never allow the situation to bow you down to the level of weeping or crying. Your tears and sorrow is the joy of devil the enemy.

You want to know why I am so bold? It is because after all, the worst any problem can do for me is to kill me. In that case I will go to a better place, enjoy a better life with God, but you see I am very strong on the WORD of God that says “I shall not die, but live …” from the outset, I tell the problem, I shall not die but live so pack your load. The truth is that, the problem has no option but to leave me alone, you will find out that some problems may want to stubbornly persist, so I also persist in speaking to the problem. At the end, I always win; I’ve never lost at any time.

It isn't the billions of ideas, that pop up in
the minds of humans around the globe that make
money. Very few ideas are worth the time it took
for the thought. Most ideas are fleeting 'sparks'
that go no place and are forgotten before the
next day. Of the ideas that are very good, very
few are followed up and ever end up as a
worthwhile development in the market place. Most
people are just not oriented to do anything about
their ideas, while others believe it would take
too much of their time or leave them open to
others taking advantage of their original idea
and benifiting themselvs. The situation is wide
open for the person who can'create' profitable
ideas, and then invest some time and money in
following through the idea to completion.

There are three major formats you can use to
create profitable ideas:

1. Find something that already exists, the
presence of which has never been known before.

2. Invent something. Most inventions are merely
new arrangements of things that have already been
invented.

3. Alter or improve in any number of different
ways something that already exists.

As you create ideas, write them down. What you
dream up can be your key to great wealth. Keep
your mind open as you go through each day. What
did you notice in the department store that would
reduce costs, save money or increase sales if
some simple procedure were added or something
changed?

Ideas for improvements are one of the most
valuable things you can contribute to society and
at the same time add to your bank account. To
create ideas for improvements, consider every
possibility and alternative for the things you
want to improve.

Learn to create ideas by evaluating all the
different aspects of the products, method or
concept you are interested in. Put your
imagination and subconscious to work and write

List ways to increase efficiency.
List ways to improve quality and increase profits
What can be done with it to satisfy more people?

This new wealth idea format will start the ideas
sparking and as related ideas come to mind write
them down in every variation you can think of. Do
not judge the good or bad points of the ideas as
they materialise to you, just write them down and
judge them afterwards. You will stop the flow of
ideas if you are critical of your thoughts before
you put them down on paper. When you have
answered everything you can about the product or
concept and know how it fits in with your plans,
sit down and evaluate all the details you have
written.

After you have found or created a good idea,
follow it up with questions on what should be
your next move in order to do something about it,
then act. Get it moving. Expose it to the world
with sufficient tests to determine the value.

Come up with ideas that are still in the
processing stage rather than get stuck on several
vague points that may be worked out later as your
subconscious goes to work. If your idea fails, so
what; you are just that much closer to finalising
another one, then another, until a useful more
valuable idea is born. Every manufacturing plant,
retailer, attorney, accountant, every business

person large or small cannot continue to operate
in the competitive world of today without someone
in the organisation constantly coming up with new
and better ideas.
Old ideas drop by the wayside as new ideas take
thier place. Old companies without new ideas fade
away. Those who learn and know how to create
ideas and anticipate the changes needed, as the
future evolves, have the opportunity to be a
great success with big money-making potential.
Another tool you can use to help dream up that
million dollar idea, is to spend several minutes each
evening, relaxed with your eyes closed. Pick any
object that comes to mind and try to change it in
your mind's eye. Change it in every manner you
can think of to improve it.

The following evening pick another subject or
object and repeat the process. Soon you will be
using 20% of your brain power instaed of the 10%
normally used by the average person. As your
knowledge and brain power increase so will your
bank account.

Just think what we could accomplish if we could
get the other 80% of our brain power working. On
second thoughts, let's not try to get 100%
efficiency out of your human computer: we would
probably blow up the world for sure.

Protecting your idea.

When you have come up with a good idea, write a
full description of it and make a sketch if
necesary. Place the written information, the
sketch and any other pertinent facts or documents
in an envelope with a date stamp over the flap,
then send it to yourself by registered mail. Keep
the envelope, unopened, in the event you need to
prove ownership.

A few idea sparks.

When you come up with an idea, program or product
that is so superior in style or performance that
it is unbelievable you may need a notarised
statement to assure your customer you are
offering an honest deal.

Make a habit of examining each piece of
correspondence you receive, taking care of it
right at the time, do what is necessary right
then. Never put it aside to be handled a second
time if at all practical. This can save more time
than anything else for an executive who handles a
large amount of correspondence and mail. You can
also save many more hours each week bt doing
several of the most important things that need to
be done each day before you take up other, time
consuming important details.

Another good way to spark ideas is to go through
the classified and wanted ads in the newspapers.
Also the yellow pages of your telephone
directory. As you read, think of something that
would be of value to the company or person, or
enhance the item you are reading about.

In summary, learn to develop ideas from observing
everyday things and details. Think of what could
make something better. Dwell on things that have
a large marketing audience, something that
everyone needs and wants. Write your idea down.
Put a pencil and pad on your bedside table. When
you remember a good dream, don't just lay there,
by morning you will forget it; jot it down on the
pad. You will be surprised what you can dream up.
Maybe the million pound idea will magically
appear on your pad tomorrow morning.

Life Mapping: A Vision of Success

Success is more than economic gains, titles, and degrees. Planning for success is about mapping out all the aspects of your life. Similar to a map, you need to define the following details: origin, destination, vehicle, backpack, landmarks, and route.

Origin: Who you are

A map has a starting point. Your origin is who you are right now. Most people when asked to introduce themselves would say, “Hi, I’m Jean and I am a 17-year old, senior highschool student.” It does not tell you about who Jean is; it only tells you her present preoccupation. To gain insights about yourself, you need to look closely at your beliefs, values, and principles aside from your economic, professional, cultural, and civil status. Moreover, you can also reflect on your experiences to give you insights on your good and not-so-good traits, skills, knowledge, strengths, and weaknesses. Upon introspection, Jean realized that she was highly motivated, generous, service-oriented, but impatient. Her inclination was in the biological-medical field. Furthermore, she believed that life must serve a purpose, and that wars were destructive to human dignity.

Destination: A vision of who you want to be

“Who do want to be?” this is your vision. Now it is important that you know yourself so that you would have a clearer idea of who you want to be; and the things you want to change whether they are attitudes, habits, or points of view. If you hardly know yourself, then your vision and targets for the future would also be unclear. Your destination should cover all the aspects of your being: the physical, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual. Continuing Jean’s story, after she defined her beliefs, values, and principles in life, she decided that she wanted to have a life dedicated in serving her fellowmen.

Vehicle: Your Mission

A vehicle is the means by which you can reach your destination. It can be analogized to your mission or vocation in life. To a great extent, your mission would depend on what you know about yourself. Bases on Jean’s self-assessment, she decided that she was suited to become a doctor, and that she wanted to become one. Her chosen vocation was a medical doctor. Describing her vision-mission fully: it was to live a life dedicated to serving her fellowmen as a doctor in conflict-areas.

Travel Bag: Your knowledge, skills, and attitude

Food, drinks, medicines, and other travelling necessities are contained in a bag. Applying this concept to your life map, you also bring with you certain knowledge, skills, and attitudes. These determine your competence and help you in attaining your vision. Given such, there is a need for you to assess what knowledge, skills, and attitudes you have at present and what you need to gain along the way. This two-fold assessment will give you insights on your landmarks or measures of success. Jean realized that she needed to gain professional knowledge and skills on medicine so that she could become a doctor. She knew that she was a bit impatient with people so she realized that this was something she wanted to change.

Landmarks and Route: S.M.A.R.T. objectives

Landmarks confirm if you are on the right track while the route determines the travel time. Thus, in planning out your life, you also need to have landmarks and a route. These landmarks are your measures of success. These measures must be specific, measurable, attainable, realistic, and time bound. Thus you cannot set two major landmarks such as earning a master’s degree and a doctorate degree within a period of three years, since the minimum number of years to complete a master’s degree is two years. Going back to Jean as an example, she identified the following landmarks in her life map: completing a bachelor’s degree in biology by the age of 21; completing medicine by the age of 27; earning her specialization in infectious diseases by the age of 30; getting deployed in local public hospitals of their town by the age of 32; and serving as doctor in war-torn areas by the age of 35.

Anticipate Turns, Detours, and Potholes

The purpose of your life map is to minimize hasty and spur-of-the-moment decisions that can make you lose your way. But oftentimes our plans are modified along the way due to some inconveniences, delays, and other situations beyond our control. Like in any path, there are turns, detours, and potholes thus; we must anticipate them and adjust accordingly.

So how do you stay calm, composed and maintain self esteem in a tough environment? Here are some tips you may to consider as a starter guide to self improvement.

Imagine yourself as a Dart Board. Everything and everyone else around you may become Dart Pins, at one point or another. These dart pins will destroy your self esteem and pull you down in ways you won’t even remember. Don’t let them destroy you, or get the best of you. So which dart pins should you avoid?

Dart Pin #1 : Negative Work Environment
Beware of “dog eat dog” theory where everyone else is fighting just to get ahead. This is where non-appreciative people usually thrive. No one will appreciate your contributions even if you miss lunch and dinner, and stay up late. Most of the time you get to work too much without getting help from people concerned. Stay out of this, it will ruin your self esteem. Competition is at stake anywhere. Be healthy enough to compete, but in a healthy competition that is.

Dart Pin #2: Other People’s Behavior
Bulldozers, brown nosers, gossipmongers, whiners, backstabbers, snipers, people walking wounded, controllers, naggers, complainers, exploders, patronizers, sluffers… all these kinds of people will pose bad vibes for your self esteem, as well as to your self improvement scheme.

Dart Pin #3: Changing Environment
You can’t be a green bug on a brown field. Changes challenge our paradigms. It tests our flexibility, adaptability and alters the way we think. Changes will make life difficult for awhile, it may cause stress but it will help us find ways to improve our selves. Change will be there forever, we must be susceptible to it.

Dart Pin #4: Past Experience
It’s okay to cry and say “ouch!” when we experience pain. But don’t let pain transform itself into fear. It might grab you by the tail and swing you around. Treat each failure and mistake as a lesson.

Dart Pin #5: Negative World View
Look at what you’re looking at. Don’t wrap yourself up with all the negativities of the world. In building self esteem, we must learn how to make the best out of worst situations.

Dart Pin #6: Determination Theory
The way you are and your behavioral traits is said to be a mixed end product of your inherited traits (genetics), your upbringing (psychic), and your environmental surroundings such as your spouse, the company, the economy or your circle of friends. You have your own identity. If your father is a failure, it doesn’t mean you have to be a failure too. Learn from other people’s experience, so you’ll never have to encounter the same mistakes.

Sometimes, you may want to wonder if some people are born leaders or positive thinkers. NO. Being positive, and staying positive is a choice. Building self esteem and drawing lines for self improvement is a choice, not a rule or a talent. God wouldn’t come down from heaven and tell you – “George, you may now have the permission to build self esteem and improve your self.”

In life, its hard to stay tough specially when things and people around you keep pulling you down. When we get to the battle field, we should choose the right luggage to bring and armors to use, and pick those that are bullet proof. Life’s options give us arrays of more options. Along the battle, we will get hit and bruised. And wearing a bullet proof armor ideally means ‘self change’. The kind of change which comes from within. Voluntarily. Armor or Self Change changes 3 things: our attitude, our behavior and our way of thinking.

Building self esteem will eventually lead to self improvement if we start to become responsible for who we are, what we have and what we do. Its like a flame that should gradually spread like a brush fire from inside and out. When we develop self esteem, we take control of our mission, values and discipline. Self esteem brings about self improvement, true assessment, and determination. So how do you start putting up the building blocks of self esteem? Be positive. Be contented and happy. Be appreciative. It's a talent that everyone has, yet they think they don't. The power of innovation. If you've ever marveled at somebody's creative prowess, guess what, you can create and innovate too. It just takes time. Everyone is born creative. The box of crayons in kindergarten were not limited to those who possessed potential; because the truth is, everybody has potential.

You know how long it took to learn to ride a bike or drive or to never commit the same mistake again? It's the same with innovation. It takes a bit of practice and a lot of time before this mind function comes easily when called. This article will teach you a few tips on how to bring innovation into your life.

Don't listen to what other people say. Follow the beat of your own drum. Allowing for the input of other people will only bring cacophony to the music you are trying to make. If you have an original idea, don't waste your time and effort trying to make people understand. They won't. And the help you will probably get comes in the form of negative feedback. If all those geniuses listened to their peers, we would probably still be living in the middle ages.

Spend time on it. I cannot stress that enough, although, please do not mistake this tip to tell you to quit your day job entirely. Do not. This involves some tricky time management but with a little discipline you'll be able to squeeze both in.

Exercise. Take a walk. Run a mile or two. Send all those endorphins coursing through your veins. Exercising certainly clears and relaxes your mind and allows for anything to pop up.

Record your dreams. Aren't some of them just the craziest things that your conscious mind would never have thought of? If you've had these dreams before, and I'm sure have, this only shows you the untapped innovative power you have lying within. So jot down those notes. Those dreams may just create an innovative spark in you.

Find your own style. You can always tell a Van Gogh from a Matisse. You'll know Hemingway wrote something by the choice of words on the paper. So it is the same with you. People will appreciate your innovation more because it is uniquely yours and that no one else would have thought of what you were thinking. That will let people see how valuable an asset you are.

Don't hide behind nifty gadgets or tools. You don't need the most expensive set of paints to produce a masterpiece. The same way with writing. You don't need some expensive fountain pen and really smooth paper for a bestseller. In fact, J.K. Rowling wrote the first book of the Harry Potter Series on bits of tissue. So what if you've got an expensive SLR camera if you're a crappy photographer? Who cares if you've got a blinging laptop if you can't write at all? The artist actually reduces the number of tools he has as he gets better at his craft: he knows what works and what doesn't.

Nothing will work without passion. What wakes you up in the mornings? What keeps the flame burning? What is the one thing that you'll die if you don't do? Sometimes people with talent are overtaken by the people who want it more. Think the hare and the tortoise. Ellen Degeneres once said that if you're not doing something that you want to do, then you don't really want to do it. And that's true. Sometimes you just want something so bad you become a virtual unstoppable. And that is passion. Passion will keep you going.

Don't worry about inspiration. You can't force it; inspiration hits when you least expect it to, for those unpredictable yet inevitable moments you should prepare. An idea could strike you on the subway, yet alas, you poor unfortunate soul; you have no sheet of paper to scribble down a thought that could change the world. Avoid these disasters. Have a pen and paper within your arm's reach at all times.

Becoming As Happy As You Desire

Almost everyone have heard the hit single 'Don't Worry, Be Happy' by Bobby McFerrin. The song has a very catchy way of conveying its message of being happy to everyone. Bobby Mcferiin's simple message surely made a lot of people by telling them not to worry.

Living a happy, resilient and optimistic life is wonderful, and is also good for your health. Being happy actually protects you from the stresses of life. Stress is linked to top causes of death such as heart disease, cancer and stroke.

One of the better things ever said is - 'The only thing in life that will always remain the same is change', and in our life we have the power to make the necessary changes if we want to. Even if we find ourselves in an unbearable situation we can always find solace in the knowledge that it too would change.

Social networks or relationships are essential to happiness. People are different, accept people for who or what they are, avoid clashes, constant arguments, and let go of all kinds of resentments. If arguments seem unavoidable still try and make an effort to understand the situation and you might just get along well with it.

Happiness is actually found in everyone, increasing it is a way to make a life more wonderful and also more healthy.

To be happy is relatively easy, just decide to be a happy person. Abraham Lincoln observed that most people for most of the time can choose how happy or stressed, how relaxed or troubled, how bright or dull their outlook will be. The choice is simple really, choose to be happy.

There are several ways by which you can do this.

Being grateful is a great attitude. We have so much to be thankful for. Thank the taxi driver for bringing you home safely, thank the cook for a wonderful dinner and thank the guy who cleans your windows. Also thank the mailman for bringing you your mails, thank the policeman for making your place safe and thank God for being alive.

News is stressful. Get less of it. Some people just can't start their day without their daily dose of news. Try and think about it, 99% of the news we hear or read is bad news. Starting the day with bad news does not seem to be a sensible thing to do.

A religious connection is also recommended. Being part of a religious group with its singing, sacraments, chanting, prayers and meditations foster inner peace.

Manage your time. Time is invaluable and too important to waste. Time management can be viewed as a list of rules that involves scheduling, setting goals, planning, creating lists of things to do and prioritizing. 1. Take Good Care of Yourself

Yeah, it seems strange in this day and age, but who are we to question tradition? It's not like I'm saying that Santa Claus doesn't exist (OOPS!).

There is so much to know about conversation that anyone, even I, could ever realize. You can go though watching talk shows; radio programs; clubs dedicated to public speaking; ordinary conversations; certain rules still apply when it comes to interaction through words. It may sound tedious, I know, but even though it's your mouth that's doing the work, your brain works twice as hard to churn out a lot of things you know. So what better way to start learning to be an effective communicator is to know the very person closest to you: yourself.

1. What you know.
Education is all about learning the basics, but to be an effective speaker is to practice what you've learned. My stint as guest at every Toastmasters' meeting I go to taught me that we all have our limitations, but that doesn't mean we can't learn to keep up and share what we know.

2. Listening.
It's just as important as asking questions. Sometimes listening to the sound of our own voice can teach us to be a little bit confident with ourselves and to say the things we believe in with conviction.

3. Humility
We all make mistakes, and sometimes we tend to slur our words, stutter, and probably mispronounce certain words even though we know what it means, but rarely use it only to impress listeners. So in a group, don't be afraid to ask if you're saying the right word properly and if they're unsure about it then make a joke out of it. I promise you it'll make everyone laugh and you can get away with it as well.

4. Eye Contact
There's a lot to say when it comes to directing your attention to your audience with an eye-catching gaze. It's important that you keep your focus when talking to a large group in a meeting or a gathering, even though he or she may be gorgeous.

5. Kidding around
A little bit of humor can do wonders to lift the tension, or worse boredom when making your speech. That way, you'll get the attention of the majority of the crowd and they'll feel that you're just as approachable, and as human to those who listen.

6. Be like the rest of them
Interaction is all about mingling with other people. You'll get a lot of ideas, as well as knowing what people make them as they are.

Be all you can be, but it's not always in the Army. I often see myself as somewhat contented with my life the way things are, but of course it's hard to think of anything else when where are real issues to be discussed.

Still I aspire for something deeper and more meaningful.

So we're all pelted with problems. Honestly it shouldn't even bother or even hinder us to becoming all we ought to be. Aspirations as kids should continue to live within us, even though it would be short-lived or as long as we could hold on to the dream. They say you can't teach an old dog new tricks… or can they?

1. What do I really want?
The question of the ages. So many things you want to do with your life and so little time to even go about during the day.

Find something that you are good at can help realize that small step towards improvement. Diligence is the key to know that it is worth it.

2. Should I really change?
Today's generation has taken another level of redefining 'self', or at least that's what the kids are saying. Having an army of teenage nieces and nephews has taught me that there are far worse things that they could have had than acne or maybe even promiscuity. So how does that fit into your lifestyle?

If history has taught us one thing, it's the life that we have gone through. Try to see if partying Seventies style wouldn't appeal to the younger generation, but dancing is part of partying. Watch them applaud after showing them how to really dance than break their bones in break-dancing.

3. What's the bright side in all of this?
With so much that is happening around us there seem to be no room for even considering that light at the end of the tunnel. We can still see it as something positive without undergoing so much scrutiny. And if it's a train at the end of the tunnel, take it for a ride and see what makes the world go round!

4. Am I comfortable with what I'm doing?
There's always the easy way and the right way when it comes to deciding what goes with which shoes, or purse, shirt and whatnot. It doesn't take a genius to see yourself as someone unique, or else we'll all be equally the same in everything we do. Variety brings in very interesting and exciting questions to be experimented. If you are comfortable with what you are doing and it is a good thing, then no matter what anybody thinks or says does not really matter. You are the most important person as far as you own personal decision is concerned.

5. Have I done enough for myself?
Have you, or is there something more you want to do? Discontentment in every aspect can be dangerous in large doses, but in small amounts you'll be able to see and do stuff you could never imagine doing. You are the most important factor as far as your own world is concerned, give yourself the best, food, clothing, shelter that you possibly can afford. Work harder and smarter to give yourself better things of life, there is a proverb in my country that says, "What the bird eats, it will fly with"

6. Am I happy at where I am today?
It's an unfair question so let it be an answer! You love being a good and loving mom or dad to your kids, then take it up a notch! Your kids will love you forever. The same goes with everyday life! If you are not happy with where you are do something now to change it to what you want.

7. Am I appealing to the opposite sex?
So maybe I don't have an answer to that, but that doesn't mean I can't try it, though. Whether you shape-up, change the way you wear your clothes or hair, or even your attitude towards people, you should always remember it will always be for your own benefit.

8. How much could I have?
I suppose in this case there is no such things as having things too much or too little, but it's more on how badly you really need it. I'd like to have lots of money, no denying that, but the question is that how much are you willing to work for it? The truth is that you can have as much as you ever desire, but there is always a responsibility attached, be willing to invest, work harder and smarter, and you will have as much as you ever wanted to have in life.

9. What motivates me?
What motivates you? It's an answer you have to find out for yourself. There are so many things that can make everyone happy, but to choose one of the many things that do may be the hardest part. It's not like you can't have one serving of your favorite food in a buffet and that's it. Just try it piece by piece. Success and wealth comes doing what you like, because you will be happy doing it. the more you do it the more of it you will know, and the more skillful you will become. This will always take you to the level of expertise and acceptance in the real world and that is the signal of real success.

10. What Really Makes You Tick?
So? What really makes you tick? You can be just about anything you always wanted to be, but to realize that attaining something that may seem very difficult is already giving up before you even start that journey. Always remember, that self-improvement is not just about the physical or philosophical change you have to undergo, but it's something that you really want.

Is Anger a Way of Life For You? Or Someone You Know?

Anger. Is it in your life daily?

Does someone just have to look at you differently, and you get angry?

If someone cuts in front of you when you've been standing in line *forever,* do you get angry?

If a delivery is late, do you get angry?

If someone doesn't live up to your expectations, do you get angry?

Do you get angry, frustrated, or hurt often? Does it seem like being angry is a habit with you now?

Well, it doesn't have to be.

One way to stop it is to sit down and write a letter to yourself, and yourself only.

Now, I know this sounds so simple, it's ridiculous, but guess what. IT'S NOT SIMPLE, IT'S NOT RIDICULOUS.

This isn't just any letter. This letter works through the six layers of emotions associated with anger. I found this technique in literature put out by Barbara De Angelis, Ph. D, and it has helped many of my clients. Sometimes, they thought they were coming to me for something else entirely, when, in fact, anger was the base of the problem. Once their anger was in control, they were able to move on.

This is a process that will help you put the anger behind you. As you use it, you will find that you are be able to control your anger quickly. You will soon be able to calm down immediately. In time, you will no longer need the letter, your mind will automatically go through the process without you having to even write it. That is the ultimate goal, but for now, write the letter, feel the change, and get on with your life.

Here is how to do that.

There are six levels involved in healing anger. They are Anger, Hurt, Fear, Regret, Intention, and Love. Each level has two feelings associated with it. For Anger, the feelings are blame and resentment. For Hurt, they are sadness and disappointment. For Fear they are insecurity and wounds. For Regret they are understanding and responsibility. For Intention, they are solutions and wishes. For Love, they are forgiveness and appreciation. We have to work through each feeling in each level until we get to the ultimate, and that is Love.

TIP: We cannot be healed until we can love ourselves. We cannot be productive until we can love ourselves. We cannot love others until we can love ourselves. Writing a letter to ourselves, sometimes several letters, is the first step toward recovering our own self-love.

There must be at least one sentence per feeling in your letter, once you write that sentence, it usually leads to more, which leads to even more. Your job, should you choose to accept it, is to write until you can't write another sentence for that feeling.

So, get out a pencil and paper and let's get to work.

The Anger level deals with blame and resentment.

Write as many sentences as you can that start out with this: "I blame you for ____." Write as many sentences as you can that start out with this: "I resent the fact that you ______." Or "I resent you for ______"

TIP: The sentences don't have to start out exactly like that. These are just examples. The sentence DOES have to deal with the feeling you are working on, though.

The Hurt layer deals with sadness and disappointment.

Write as many sentences as you can that start out like this: "You make me sad when you ____." Write as many sentences as you can that start out like this: "You disappoint me when you ______."

The Fear layer deals with insecurity and wounds.

Write as many sentences as you can that start out like this: "I feel insecure when you ____." Write as many sentences as you can that start out like this: "You wound me when you ______."

Now, we've worked pass what has hurt us and we are working on toward a solution. This is a very important step. Since we are writing for ourselves, and maybe even to ourselves, this helps us come up with a solution for ourselves.

The Regret layer deals with understanding and responsibility.

Write as many sentences as you can that start out like this: "I understand the situation as ____." Write as many sentences as you can that start out like this: "I feel responsible when ______."

The Intention layer deals with solutions and wishes.

Write as many sentences as you can that start out like this: "I feel a solution might be ____." Write as many sentences as you can that start out like this: "I wish ______."

The Love layer deals with forgiveness and appreciation.

Write as many sentences as you can that start out like this: "I forgive you for ____." Write as many sentences as you can that start out like this: "I appreciate the fact that you ______."

You are working down through the six levels of emotions, individually. You are taking care of each emotion that would have ultimately ended up in anger. By the time you are back down to love, you are more in control of your emotions. And, by the way, did you notice you are feeling much better now? More in control? In a productive state? Good!

Now, who do you think you should show this letter to? NO ONE! Right? Right! Because showing the letter defeats the purpose of the letter. I cannot say this strongly enough! You are writing the letter for YOURSELF only, no matter who you are writing it to, so that YOU can work through YOUR feelings and become a better person. Showing this letter to anyone only decreases it's value, and quite possibly HURTS the other person. Do you want to do that? I don't think so. That's not what we're learning here. If you did show the letter to someone, it means you aren't healed. Please, please, don't learn that way. If you don't feel 100% better, go back and rewrite the letter.

When you are finished, you will feel as though a load has been lifted from your shoulders. The anger will be gone. You have just learned that you are capable of dealing with your anger in a non-threatening way. And isn't that a great way to handle it?

Now, decide to write a letter every time you start feeling that old tension start to grow, and realize that you have now taken control of your life. Because every time you take control, you are telling your brain that you WILL succeed, and it will help you relax faster and easier every time.

The yoke of Jesus is easy, but there is a burden too, but it is light. What is this yoke? These yokes are what God expects us to do, some of them are not easy on the surface, but we are helped from the inside to do them. For instance, giving is not easy, to some it is a yoke, but if you give, the Bible says that you will receive in abundance and God cannot lie. It takes faith and rugged determination to follow and obey this injunction.

Paul told Timothy to fight the good fight of faith. You need to be ready to stand your ground in faith, we shall be persecuted for His namesake, and opposition will rise because of our faith. If you stand fast, you shall get there.
Let me explain this with a real life experience that I passed through at the commencement of my ministry. The Lord had said to me, “Go and teach people how to make a good success of their lives in this difficult world.” We started the Success Dimension Church in earnest, but the people refused to come to our church, after a few months some close people suggested we fold up, but I knew what God told me, it was a fight of faith. I had to stay put to fulfill what He has called me to do upon the earth. It was not a very easy yoke to carry on in those early days, many weak people would have abandoned the work and go after other things. It was not easy for me, after preparing a powerful message, get to church and meet nobody apart from my wife and children; but I knew what it takes and thank God today.
I really thank God today that I was made able by Him to stay in that assignment until today. Psalm 75:5,6

For promotion cometh neither from the east; nor from the west; nor from the south. But God is the Judge: He putteth down one, and setteth up another.

Lasting success is a promotion that comes only from the Lord. If you allow the devil to sponsor you, your end will be very calamitous.

God and the wicked kings of Israel:
Israel was the nation God set apart for Himself to love and to cherish, a nation that would model the plan of God for mankind, a nation that ought to teach others how to serve God. From the Old Testament, we see that the every time a king loved the Lord, served Him with all his heart and follow His precepts and laws; that king always bring prosperity upon all Israel: and that king always ended up becoming very great.
Late King Saul started well, but his failure began the day he disobeyed the Lord. One of the qualities of King David was that he had a heart for God. David was not a perfect man from any angle you may look at it, he committed greater and more grievous sins than even Saul: but David always repented of his sins. He knew how to humble himself before God and plead for mercy. The magic of walking with God is not in being perfect but in knowing how to find grace and obtain His mercy to help in time of need: it is knowing how to worship Him with all our heart, and strength. From the Bible we learnt that the more you know God and serve Him, the more your prosperity and peace. The first official king of Israel was Saul, he prospered as long as he served the Lord with all his heart, and disobedience and lack of total trust in the word of the Lord led him to loose the kingdom to David.
David was wise because he was able to maintain a good relationship with God despite his shortcomings and mistakes. Through humility and fear of God, he succeeded in becoming a man after God’s heart. He walked in God’s way so much that the love that God had for him got a promise for him from God that Israel’s throne will always be occupied by his descendants if they follow and obey like David their father.
Solomon prospered and the whole of Israel enjoyed peace because he loved the Lord and walked in His precepts. As soon as Solomon forsook the way of the Lord, problem began. What was the result? Although Rehoboam his son succeeded him as king, the kingdom of Israel was divided into two, Israel and Judah. Rehoboam’s heart was not fully out to serve the Living God, and so he lost greater part of the kingdom to his servant. Rehoboam reigned over Judah while Jeroboam reigned over Israel.
Those who fear the Lord always prosper. Jeroboam who reigned over Israel after the division of the kingdom did evil in the sight of the Lord, so he did not prosper and whole of Israel was plunged into chaos because their king did not honor the Lord in all his ways.
Thank God for the New Testament: it was sealed with the blood of Jesus our high priest. He went into the real holy of holies in heaven (not the ones built by human hands, which were a pattern of the real/original). He presented his own blood to wash us of all our sins; not like the blood of bulls or any other animal that could not remove our guilt and make us children: His own righteous blood was able to satisfy the righteous claim of God. As he was dying on the cross to fulfill this glorious assignment, the veil of the temple was rent from top to bottom, releasing the Holy Spirit from the confinement of earthly holy of holies to the hearts of men and women. He rose again from the dead to become the first person to be born-again by the Holy Spirit of God. You know, he died spiritually, which means He was cut off from God when He carried your sins and mine (and for the whole world). No wonder He cried, “My Father, My Father, why hast thou forsaken me?” God’s eyes are pure and cannot behold iniquity; Jesus was carrying our iniquities, infirmities, sorrow, poverty, diseases etc. He was separated from God, and this was a form or type of spiritual death. He went to defeat the devil and all his cohorts in hell and took the keys of death from the enemy. Hebrews 2: 14,15.

Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood,
He also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death
He might destroy him that had the power of death, that is the devil;
And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime
subject unto boundage.

He died physically (Separation from this physical world), and he died spiritually (separated from God and light), just for the purpose of bringing many sons to glory. The Son of God became the son of man so that through his death and resurrection, He can turn many sons of men to become sons of God. Romans 8:11 is a beautiful scripture, read it carefully below

But if the Spirit of Him that raised up Christ from the dead dwells in you, He that raised Jesus from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by His Spirit that dwelleth in you.

The Holy Spirit worked, and raised up Christ from the dead, He is alive today and forever. He rose up physically, and spiritually was born-again, the concept of being born again actually means re-union of man's spirit with God The Holy Spirit; It means the re-establishment of a rapport that was broken; it means the impartation of God's life into the spirit of man; it means the radiation of God's light or word into the heart of man.
Jesus came to make us a people that the devil cannot ever conquer , We are a set of people that the devil fears and the Angels are envying. If you are a child of God, and you have confessed with your mouth and believed in your heart that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and that He died and rose again the third day, then you are too dangerous for the devil or any of his agents either human or spiritual. There is someone in you that makes you not just different but peculiar. This will only work for you if you know it, believe it and accept it as been true for you as a person.
You are not ordinary, 1John4:4 started by saying that you are of God, meaning you are made of God; you are made of God's stuff or material. The table on which I wrote this book was made of wood, so I can say without any fear of error that this table is of tree. Do you agree with me? Every intelligent fellow knows that any table made of wood can be said to be 'of tree'.
When the Bible says in 1John4:4 that you are of God, He is saying your whole stuff is God's material, there is a rob off of God on you. That verse continued by saying that, "you have overcome them," meaning that you have overcome evil, failure, sickness, death, debt, weakness, sorrow, and so on. You have the power to overcome because greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world.
Success is easy to attain when you love the Lord. No matter what you are going through and the challenges you are facing now, the truth is that The Lord loves you as much as He loves anyone on this planet earth. The secret of enjoying more love from Him than others is the way you respond to this general love, your response to the general love which He has for every human being can make Him committed to you and your course more than many other people's. The more He commits Himself to you, the more prosperity you will enjoy.
What Jesus said in Matthew 6:33, explains my point further, read it below

But seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

Read also the following scripture from Deuteronomy 8:18

But thou shall remember The Lord thy God: for it is He that giveth thee power to get wealth, that He may establish His covenant which He sware unto thy fathers as it is this day.

If you neglect the God factor in your pursuit of success, you can never attain to the good success we talked about in this book. God is the one who gives you power to get wealth, to attain to the level of good success. See below what God said in 3John2

Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.
The will of God is very clear concerning your prosperity and success. It is God's will for you above all things that you prosper tremendously and enjoy good health even as your soul prospers. Dear Reader, get hooked with God! Nothing can replace God's factor in your bid to succeed in life.

Get Your Eyes off Yourself

What you see has a lot to do with what you get in life, and this has a lot to do with your destiny. Seeing is so important that it is impossible to get anything in this life without first seeing it in your mind. This may be a conscious effort or an unconscious effort, but the truth is that nobody gets anything without first seeing it.

When God called Moses, he couldn’t do much because he focused only on himself, not on God, so he asked several questions, he even asked God to send somebody else. In Exodus 7:1 God spoke to Moses, “…See, I have made thee a god to pharaoh…” Meaning that God was saying, get your eyes off yourself; get them off your weakness; get them off the enemy’s power; and focus on my words.

When you focus on yourself, you will see weakness, failure, defeat, inadequacy, and shame. Why? No one is perfect, you cannot afford to focus on those imperfections, and they will lead you to more failure in life. Those who focus on themselves always experience poverty and death. You are not to focus on the mountains of problems either, you are more than the problems of life; you are more than the pains you are passing through. Stop allowing these things to rule you or dictate your pace in life. It is time you stopped complaining about what you do not have and start believing God for them, and start seeing them as if you have them already.

Let’s learn from Moses and see how he complained before God even before he commenced the assignment given to him by God.

Number one, Moses complained to God when he was called and said “…who am I that I should go to Pharaoh…” Exodus 3:11 he was looking at his inability instead of looking at the ability of Him who has called him. Do not look at yourself; the Bible says “looking unto Jesus, the author and the finisher of our faith.”

The second complaint of Moses was this, “…What shall I say unto them?” Exodus 3:13. Speak the word of God to your circumstances, say I shall not die, speak the word of God and say, I shall not fail. Say good things no matter what happens, even when you are dying say the things that you desire to happen and it will happen. Never say anything that when it happens you will not be happy. Moses said, “What shall I say to them?” Do not ask that kind of question, say to them (your troubles), I shall overcome, I am more than conquerors.

The third complaint of Moses was this, “…But behold, they will not believe me, nor hearken unto my voice…” Exodus 4:1-9. To you I proclaim that you should go and do what God says. Speak to your problems, they will obey you; speak to your situation, don’t speak about it, speak to it. When you speak about it, you are telling people the facts of the matter, but when you speak to it, you are telling it what you want it to do to you. When you say, “I don’t have money” you are speaking about your situation. But when you say, “But my God shall supply all my needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus” then you are speaking to your situation. Do you get what I am saying?

The fourth complaint of Moses was this, “…I am not eloquent…” Exodus 4:10-12. The reply of God is very clear to him and to us now, God said, “I will be thy mouth” you have to understand that God doesn’t save by anybody’s eloquence. However you speak, God hears you and will respond to your words in due time, make sure you speak when it is convenient and when it is not. Your words are seeds, they are not wasted, and they work even as God’s word works.

The fifth complaint made by Moses was very bloody; very bad, hear it “…O my Lord, send I pray thee, by the hand of him whom thou wilt send.”
Never tell God he made a mistake to create you or call you.
Never tell God to leave you and look for someone else.
Never tell God you cannot do what He has called you to do.
Never tell God you are too weak to obey Him.
God became very angry with him as a result of this foolish reaction. Moses lost something of value for making this mistake, God had to look for Aaron to come and help, Aaron eventually became the high priest and his sons forever. Moses’ children became disqualified; their names were not even heard. Be very careful not to complain before God, it has far reaching implications.

The sixth complaint was understandable because pharaoh has increased the burdens of the people of Israel instead of releasing them, so Moses complained before God, read it in Exodus 5:22, 23
“And Moses returned unto the Lord, and said, Lord, wherefore has thou so evil entreated this people? Why is it that thou hast sent me?”
He queried God’s call upon his life because of temporary failure. This is a warning to you, in life, there will always be a time of temporary failure, never look back or complain when you fail. David said, “Though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I shall fear no evil” Temporary defeat is not equal to failure.
Please note this truth, the fact that God has called you, or told you to do that thing does not mean that you will not face challenges and failure. There will always be problems, difficult tasks, but you will overcome at last. When the going get tough, look unto Jesus. Stop looking unto yourself; you will fail more when your focus is on you.

The seventh complaint was the last; it taught Moses how to focus and what to see. In Exodus 6:30 we read,
“And Moses said before the Lord, behold, I am of uncircumcised lips, and how shall pharaoh hearken unto me?”
God gave him a powerful answer, He said, “See, I have made thee a god to pharaoh.” It is the same thing God is saying to you today, “behold, I have made thee a god to all your problems.”

Every one of us makes the complaints highlighted above, and the reason we do is that we never got our eyes off ourselves; we refuse to see what God wants us to see; we magnify the problems more than God’s ability in us. The moment God told Moses to begin to see himself as a god; he never gave another complaint in his life afterwards. He moved as a general that he was, he spoke with boldness, and he shook pharaoh and all Egypt with his words.
See yourself too as a god to all your problems

The Power of Honesty

A successful business man was growing old and
knew it was time to choose a successor to take over the business.

Instead of choosing one of his Directors or his children,
he decided to do something different. He called all the young
executives in his company together.

He said, "It is time for me to step down and choose the next CEO.
I have decided to choose one of you. "The young executives were
shocked, but the boss continued. "I am going to give each one
of you a SEED today - one very special SEED. I want you to plant
the seed, water it, and come back here one year from today with
what you have grown from the seed I have given you. I will then
judge the plants that you bring, and the one I choose will be
the next CEO."

One man, named Jim, was there that day and he, like the others,
received a seed. He went home and excitedly, told his wife the
story. She helped him get a pot, soil and compost and he planted
the seed. Everyday, he would water it and watch to see if it had
grown. After about three weeks, some of the other executives began
to talk about their seeds and the plants that were beginning to grow.

Jim kept checking his seed, but nothing ever grew.

Three weeks, four weeks, five weeks went by, still nothing.

By now, others were talking about their plants, but Jim didn't have
a plant and he felt like a failure.

Six months went by -- still nothing in Jim's pot. He just knew he
had killed his seed. Everyone else had trees and tall plants, but
he had nothing. Jim didn't say anything to his colleagues, however.
He just kept watering and fertilizing the soil - He so wanted the
seed to grow.

A year finally went by and all the young executives of the company
brought their plants to the CEO for inspection.

Jim told his wife that he wasn't going to take an empty pot.
But she asked him to be honest about what happened. Jim felt sick
to his stomach, it was going to be the most embarrassing moment
of his life, but he knew his wife was right. He took his empty pot
to the board room. When Jim arrived, he was amazed at the variety
of plants grown by the other executives. They were beautiful --
in all shapes and sizes. Jim put his empty pot on the floor and
many of his colleagues laughed, a few felt sorry for him!

When the CEO arrived, he surveyed the room and greeted his young
executives.

Jim just tried to hide in the back. "My, what great plants, trees,
and flowers you have grown," said the CEO. "Today one of you will
be appointed the next CEO!"

All of a sudden, the CEO spotted Jim at the back of the room with
his empty pot. He ordered the Financial Director to bring him to
the front. Jim was terrified. He thought, "The CEO knows I'm a
failure! Maybe he will have me fired!"

When Jim got to the front, the CEO asked him what had happened
to his seed - Jim told him the story.

The CEO asked everyone to sit down except Jim. He looked at Jim,
and then announced to the young executives, "Behold your next
Chief Executive Officer!

His name is Jim!" Jim couldn't believe it. Jim couldn't even grow
his seed.

"How could he be the new CEO?" the others said.

Then the CEO said, "One year ago today, I gave everyone in this
room a seed. I told you to take the seed, plant it, water it,
and bring it back to me today. But I gave you all boiled seeds;
they were dead - it was not possible for them to grow.

All of you, except Jim, have brought me trees and plants and
flowers. When you found that the seed would not grow, you
substituted another seed for the one I gave you. Jim was the
only one with the courage and honesty to bring me a pot with
my seed in it. Therefore, he is the one who will be the new
Chief Executive Officer!"

* If you plant honesty, you will reap trust

* If you plant goodness, you will reap friends

* If you plant humility, you will reap greatness

* If you plant perseverance, you will reap contentment

Save money anytime you collect your salary or wages. The best way to get capital for your future business is to save money now, a minimum of 10% of your income is recommended. Your savings should be in a savings account or a fixed deposit account as the case may be. You have to resolve never to fall back on these savings for daily needs and expenditure, but see it as a savings meant for your future business. You only draw from it for business purposes, meaning for investment that will yield greater profit and make you more money.

Invest in shares of viable companies. Buying shares is a very powerful means of saving money in such a way that your money will be employed to work for you to make more money for you. Somebody said, “The rich doesn’t work for money but money works for him.” When you invest in viable shares, you are simply making you money to become your slave, working for you to make more money while you sleep and do almost nothing. I have seen shoe makers fold up their businesses, as a result of bankruptcy, at the same time, some other shoe makers are making so much wealth that they became colossus in this world. So it is not the business that brings wealth it is the man behind the business. It is true that the business is important, the man behind it is more important. There is no business under the sun that does not have the potentiality of making you a millionaire. Many are flocking to oil and gas, or telecommunications and some are making it, while some are failing. You are more important than the business; it is not the business that prospers it is the man behind it that makes it prosper.

Miracle or Magic

Miracle is the supernatural intervention of God in the ordinary course of life; it is beyond human calculations, predictions and manipulations. No science of any sort can explain it is God at work, it defiles logic or reasoning, it beats every human imagination.

Miracle is different from magic because magic employs the use of the mind, hallucinations and illusions, you can study and learn the art of magic. Magic follows a certain pattern of occurrence but miracle does not. Nobody can study or fully understand how a miracle happens, when it will happen and the pattern it will take. This is so because the miracle of healing one blind man may be very different from how it will occur in healing another blind man in the same venue of occurrence.

You can understand the workings of magic but nobody can understand the workings of a true miracle. This is true because God Himself alone is the One that works miracles, but magic is worked by man, it is a science and as I mentioned earlier, anyone can learn to become a magician.

Bible examples of miracles

If you read 11Kings 4: 1-7, you will learn about the story of a widow woman whose husband, the breadwinner died untimely and was heavily indebted to her husband’s creditors who threatened to take away her sons, the collaterals that were used in obtaining the loans. This woman cried to the man of God, Elisha who performed the miracle of multiplication of oil. This was a miracle no science of this day can explained, it was supernatural, and you can’t beat that.

Jesus attended a wedding at Cana of Galilee, the wine got finished, they needed a miracle fast, and the story is in John 2: 3-11. The miracle of all miracles happened when Jesus Christ the son of the Living God turned water into wine before their very eyes, can you beat that?

11Kings 6:25-30, 7:1, 2, 16-20. We read here the situation in Samaria when there was a very severe famine or inflation, it was difficult to survive, and people were already killing their children and eating them as food because of the severity of the lack in the entire nation. Suddenly the man of God, Elisha declared that, “by this time of tomorrow, there shall be surplus in the land, people thought that he was crazy, but it happened because God Himself was the One involved in working that miracle.

The Bible is full of occurrences of miracles, read your Bible and see God in action. I have experienced many miracles, God have used me many times to perform unimaginable miracles. God have used me, by merely asking me to speak words of authority into some situations and I have seen God work His wonders. I have seen so many barren women conceive and gave birth to children, my friend, miracles are real, they still occur. You can witness a miracle in your life too; the starting point is to give your life to the Lord Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. It is as simple as that.

Importance of miracles:

Miracles are very important to accomplish God’s work in this world to convince the gainsayers and those in doubt that God is real. Some will not believe if they do not see miracles. Miracle can deliver to your hand what you may have been struggling to achieve for many years without success. Miracle is a sign that God is with us, it is very important to silence the onslaught of the devil or enemies; it keeps their mouths shut because it is a stamp of God’s approval upon our lives.

How to enjoy the flow of the miraculous:

• Note that miracles happens in the atmosphere of worship, to experience miracles, you must cultivate the habit of constantly worshiping the Lord in your church and in your privacy.
• Loving the Lord with all your heart causes a wave of miracles to begin to happen in your life and ministry. Our Lord Jesus Christ said we should seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all other things shall be added to us.
• Study of the word of god with understanding in the spirit brings about the workings of miracles see John 1: 1-5, 14 the word of god is the work of God, it is the miracle of God. God commanded us to attend to His word see Proverbs 4: 20-23
• Purposeful personal prayer life creates a life full of the miraculous; prayer gives us a voice in the heavens, and gives us respect in the kingdom of darkness. Prayer produces power; a prayerful Christian is a powerful Christian.
• Faith is a very important ingredient in performing any miracle on earth, have faith in God. Faith believes the word of God, it is also working according to the word of God. Faith calls those things that are not as though they were Romans 4: 17-22. Faith says God has done it, or I have it now, or I am rich or blessed. As a matter of fact, faith sees beyond the NOW.

Count It All Joy

We are admonished in the book of James to count it all joy when we fall into different types of temptations. I used to wonder in those days why I should count it a thing of joy each time I faced a difficulty, afterall such experiences of difficulty are not palatable nor convenient to us as human beings. As I grew older in the faith and by my personal observation of things here on earth, I began to see the wisdom of God in this admonition.

The first reason is that nothing is permanent, things change, events pass away, even people die, so when you adopt the attitude of counting it all joy because you are aware of the temporary nature of the problem, then you are the wise one. You need to realize that temptations, trials and sufferings are not designed to mar you but to make you, this is the truth as I have proved this statement over and over again in my life and in the lives of many people in my congregation.

You need to count it joy because the Bible says that you are of God, meaning you belong to God, and that you are made up of God's stuff. There is something about you that has a touch of divinity. You are loaded with possibility. problems are made to provide you with the opportunity to prove that you are more than conquerors. When you have problems, difficulties, challenges, then it is good, count it joy for the privilege of seeing a miracle soon. That you are having it hard now is an indication of a victory knocking your door so count it joy.

The Untouchables

There are some groups of people on the face of the earth who are untouchables, they are the anointed ones of God. The Bible says in Psalm 105:13-15

When they went from one nation to another, from one kingdom to another people; He suffered no man to do them wrong: yea He reproved Kings for their sakes; Saying, Touch not Mine anointed and do my prophets no harm.

The people of God are untouchables on the face of the earth, no one can touch them and go free, not even kings, or presidents of nations, they are very special to the Almighty God Himself, and He is the one that takes care of them Himself. These group of people are called by God Himself, as peculiar, they are the ones who have given their lives to our Lord Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

The Bible says that as many as received Him are given power to become children of God. When you are given power to become a son of the Almighty God, it puts you over any problem of life, it elevates you into an enviable position as an untouchable, favored child of the King of kings. If you have not done so already, I am inviting you to give your life to Jesus Christ as your own personal Lord and Savior. As you respond to this message the Lord will support you to become the best you were created to be.

Get the Most From Your People

Watch people playing softball, bowling, scrap booking, gardening, etc. What do you see? You see people enjoying what they are doing. You notice passion, initiative, energy, creativity, drive and a striving to do the best that they possibly can. It is obvious that the average person has these characteristics. These are the same people that are your employees. So what don't you see much of this at work? The challenge for business leadership everywhere is to focus this passion, and the energy that results from it, on the work they do for the company. When you accomplish, you have put your organization on the path to becoming elite. You have people working for you, not machines. They have a desire to succeed, ideas, needs, energy and many other capabilities and drives.

If every one in the company made a list of these personal attributes, you would notice that all of the lists are very similar. Even Yours! This leads me to the thought that at a high level, everyone is fairly the same. Of course, we have different strengths and skills. After all, a company is a collection of different skills working together to accomplish a mission. All people are equal, we just have different jobs. The more you treat them as people rather than part of the machinery, the more willing they are to release their passion and energy on the work they do. The more you treat them as responsible adults rather than simply "units of execution", the stronger the company becomes. This is easier for some leaders than others. A lot depends on how you were raised, what you value, how you learned to manage an organization, company norms and culture and your ego. Leaders who developed in a collaborative, inclusive environment place a higher value on teamwork and equality.

They treat employees as valuable people. Their people are part of the solution. Leaders, who developed in more of a traditional, hierarchical organization, place a higher value on top-down structure and authority of the position. They have a greater tendency to treat people as "units of execution". Their workers are part of the problem. The most effective way to get your people to care as much about the success of the company as you do is to encourage them to participate. The more they feel part of what is happening in the company, the more of themselves they are willing to invest. This leads to greater productivity. The inclusive type of leader allows the people to contribute as much as they can, getting increased value from each person. The traditional type of leader tends to keep participation to a minimum walling off the additional value that the people could bring to the company. Which type of leader are you? If you are already an inclusive leader, think about the strengths of your people. Then find better ways to allow them to focus their strengths and passion creating business results. If you are a traditional leader, you probably have a lot of people who just do what they are asked to do but not much more. Put yourself in their place. What would cause you to get excited enough to pour your energy into doing only excellent work? Then DO IT!..for your people and for your company's success!

Two Key Elements to Achieving Success

Peter Drucker and Jack Welch, two experts in anyone's list of experts, have identified many key elements leading to personal success. The following two are so fundamental and critical, but often get pushed aside in favor of the "silver bullet of the month" element. They bear repeating.

Drucker said there is nothing as worthless as doing well something that doesn't need to be done at all.

Jack and Suzy Welch, in their weekly "The Welchway" column in Business Week, advised a questioner seeking career advice - a self described introvert - to find and release his inner extrovert if he wanted greater success in a large organization. Relationships count, and being known and having your value known is a personal responsibility - so adapt.

What do the Peter Drucker statement and the Jack and Suzy Welch advice have in common? They deal with two key elements required to achieve success

Key Element One - You've got to be doing work that others see as valuable and it's up to you to advertise it's value.

And the valuing of the work starts with the person doing it. If they don't see its value, you can be sure others won't either. It's the difference between being "just the receptionist" and being " the first person people meet when they come to my company." It's the difference between being a "retail clerk" and an "expert on men's fashions."

The burden of establishing the value of the work belongs to the person doing the work - they're the person most affected by the perception of the value of what they do. It's in their best interest to advertise and promote what they're doing as worthy and valuable to the enterprise. In many organizations, expecting that your work will speak for itself results in disappointment and frustration.. When there are so many others speaking out for their work you gotta stand up for what you do.

Ask yourself - Can you, in thirty seconds, explain what you do and its value to your organization? Not being able to do that effectively creates the perception of low value. The story of the three bricklayers illustrates that point. The first, when asked what he does, said " I lay brick." The second said "I'm helping build a school." The third said "I'm contributing to the building of a place where children in our community will learn - a special place." Same job, same outcome, same pay - three very different pictures of value added. Which of the three would you rather have working for and with you?

A story about how to keep value and accomplishment a secret:

A good friend was in a new position promoting a new enterprise that was going to open its doors in about a year. Her job was to promote and develop interest and commitment in this new enterprise in its target market. She started from scratch, with very little to work with other than her knowledge and presentation and relationship skills. The results of her efforts would not really be apparent until the enterprise opened. She did an excellent job of promotion - outside her organization. Inside her organization - not so much. She was working independent of any direct supervision. She was advised to develop a regularly published report - weekly preferred, at the least monthly - to communicate her activities and accomplishments. She thought that was too much like self promotion, and, besides, she didn't like doing that kind of work. So her bosses really had only anecdotal information on which to judge her effectiveness. Had she put together a routine of reporting and creating a vision of what she was doing, she would have been seen as the highly effective, valuable and successful person she was. But no one was in a position to see her success. She was lucky. She had a patient boss. Many aren't so lucky.

Key Element Two- Know who you are - your unique blend of skills, motivators and behaviors. Not just who you think you are, but how you are perceived by others. Then get to know your organization's expectations and culture. Then adapt to meet the needs of your organization - you must accept the responsibility of matching up with the requirements of the work and of the culture.

Sounds like a nobrainer. But many a can't - miss prospect, a big success in one situation, ends up not succeeding in what looks like a similar situation. The cause?

It starts with making the assumption that what worked at one place will work at another - that the motivators, values, behaviors and personal skills brought to the job match the requirements of the new enterprise. It's amazing how often they don't. It's also amazing how out of touch people can be with the reality of their personal skills, motivators and behaviors.

An example:

A manager whose experiences and values have resulted in her being very successful as a planner and preparer. She now works in a mid size company where speed to market is an absolute value. She insists that everything be planned and prepared so that chances of 100% success at implementation are as high as possible. No ready, fire aim for her. She's convinced of the rightness of her ways. Chances of success in that environment unless she adapts her values and behaviors - very low.

To put these two key success elements to work for you, take Drucker's observation to heart and make sure you do work valued by both you and your organization. And, of course, do it well. And take Jack and Suzy Welch's advice to heart and get to know the culture of the organization and how you fit in it and adapt to make sure your work is valued by others - self promotion is a valuable personal skill. It's an outcome of being convinced of the value of what you do, and, as the expert on what you do, you have the unique capability to share and create that value with others.

Motivation Slump? 7 Steps to Banish Unproductivity

All of us have times in business that zap us from the energy or the desire to keep going. When we are not motivated to work our business we jeopardize success. When we are unproductive we are losing valuable income by being idle. Instead of generating cash we are immobilized. As we continue in our unmotivated state we perpetuate the problem by finding more and more ways to avoid the action we should be taking. Then we begin to feel guilt or we give in to a bit of panic. Worse, we start to lose our desire to make this business work. This cycle must stop before we sabotage all the effort we have put in previously.

So how do you regain your motivation?

1. Take responsibility to stay motivated. You alone are responsible for your motivation. Don't count on others. This is your life.

2. How do you find motivation? Each person has their own inner motivation triggers. What are yours? Think back to times when you have been completely revved up to accomplish something. What was the driving force behind that motivation. Stir up that motivation trigger again.

3. Keep your goal/goals forefront in your mind. Keeping your goals alive gives inspiration. Keep a dream journal. Use pictures of your dream as your screen saver. Keep a list in your day planner and schedule time at least weekly to review your goals.

4. Support from others. We need encouragement to know we are doing the right thing. Develop a mastermind team that knows your goals and encourages you to pursue those goals.

5. Know your purpose. When you know your purpose your life takes on meaning. Following your purpose gives you the fulfillment that puts you on a path of inspiration.

6. Action breeds motivation. Do something right now that will give you results. You will discover that the first step is the hardest. Once you get involved in that first action step generally the motivation returns.

7. Do what you love. Still stumped? Take the most exciting part of the project and begin with that part. Pick one thing from your list of action steps you need to take, make it something you enjoy doing, and determine to spend 15 minutes doing that task.

8. Listen to motivational speakers. Find motivational speakers that can get you excited about living life to the fullest. Some of my favorites are Zig Ziglar, Jim Rohn and John Maxwell. Find some podcasts and be prepared to be ready to get back on to the fast track to success.

As you keep referring to this list and the things you've discovered about yourself you will find the times of being unmotivated become farther and farther apart. You will have found your own inner drive and that's the best motivation of all!

Empowerment is about owning our power, and it comes from within. No one can give us freedom; we have to claim it for ourselves. The funny thing about life is that when we stop blaming others and circumstances for restricting our lives, we begin to see that we have been our own persecutor, our own judge, our own jailer, and ultimately our own liberator. At first it may seem sad and frustrating, but once we start to free ourselves from our own self-defeating behaviours, beliefs and limitations, the lightness and ease kicks in and we can't help but laugh at how silly it all has been - we see how we've lived our lives as though caught in an old episode of the Twilight Zone. All we have to do is change the channel.

Owning more of your power involves being honest with yourself, connecting with who you really are on a deeper level, knowing what your needs and values are, what you like and don't like, what your passions and priorities are in life. When you know who you are, what you want and where your boundaries are, you feel empowered, confident, peaceful and on purpose in life. You trust yourself and the process of life. You know that everyone and everything that comes into your life has either a gift or a lesson to offer you. And you are able to receive and give openly and generously.

Reflect on these questions to gain insights:

* When have you felt empowered in your life - at what times, in what situations, with which people? How did you contribute to this?

* When have you felt disempowered in your life - where, with whom? How did you contribute to this?

* Where do you currently give your power away - in what situations, with whom and why? What are you getting in exchange for your freedom and power (other's attention, approval, love etc.) and is it worth it?

Try these inspiring ideas to feel more empowered in your life:

* Imagine fully owning your power in the situations you tend to give it away. What boundaries would you have to set? What would you need to do for yourself to feel safe, accepted and loved in these situations?

* Explore what your needs and values are in life. The things that you need to have or be in order to feel comfortable in life (honesty, order, clarity, acknowledgment etc), and how you like to live and express yourself in life (adventure, beauty, creativity, leadership etc.). Where are you honouring your needs and values in the various aspects of your life? Brainstorm ways you can more fully honour these in all areas of your life.

* Try taking some time to let your imagination show you the possibilities of owning your power and how freeing it is. Start by sitting comfortably with your eyes closed letting your body relax. Imagine filling your whole body and energy space with a clear gold color as a way to fill yourself with your own certainty and power. Let every cell of your body vibrate with the feelings of enthusiasm and freedom. Then start to imagine what your life can be like when you are fully empowered. Go through a day, a week and even a month or year from the perspective of owning your power and honoring yourself. Notice what you are doing, saying and feeling. Just before coming back to the present moment, ask yourself what it is you most need to do or be in order to take the next step in owning your power.

1. First and foremost, believe that you are enough! You are exactly as the universe has created you and you are ENOUGH! This is a big one in claiming back your own personal power.

2. Don't give your personal power away to anyone! You can do this without even knowing it by doing things you just don't want to do or go along with. Ever had someone really want you to do something - think about that for a minute! Your boss, a close friend, what about a family member? By giving in and not standing up for yourself you are giving them some of your own personal power each and every time. This does not mean you have to be mean or nasty with them but stand-up for what you are believing in.

3. Protect yourself and your energy fields to make sure you are not being attacked on an energy level from a psychic vampire or energy drainer.

4. Say yes and be open to possibilities. Have you seen the movie the Yes, Man! It is a wonderful comedy, but has a great meaning behind it as well! They take this to an extreme in the movie, but the point is to be open to possibilities as you never know where they are going to come from.

5. Last but not least, HAVE FUN and ENJOY LIFE TO ITS FULLEST!

You Dream of Wealth - Your Program to Get It

For you to achieve success, if you haven't found it, look within! Your subconscious is absorbing all that you hear, see, and think. Until you take control of the thoughts you send to the subconscious, it will be impossible to change. There is one simple step to take control. Develop your Faith. The way to do that is through persistent, consistent daily self-talk. Find your strengths and work on those weak areas with your positive self-talk. You can use any affirmations as long as they eliminate your weaknesses.

Start with 1-3 areas depending upon how persistent and consistent you are. For example, you have to get all the information before making a decision. One affirmation for you might be: I'll make a decision as soon as I have enough information to see the big picture. Repeat this each time you start going off on a tangent. So, faith is needed, faith in yourself. How do you develop this faith?

"FAITH is a state of mind which may be induced, or created, by affirmation or repeated instructions to the subconscious mind, through the principle of autosuggestion." Napoleon Hill. Let's expand on that statement starting with "state of mind". There are 2 areas of concern. One is the negative state of mind. The second one is a positive outlook. The biggest producer of failure is the negative mind set.

If you think you'll lose, you've already lost. The first step is eliminate the negative thoughts that bombard you daily from TV, radio, or any other source. This might mean avoiding friends unless you can influence them with a positive take on any situation. I am doing this program. This is one of the hardest areas I've found to change. Persistent is the watch word. Keep at it. You will change.

"FAITH...may be induced...by affirmations...to the subconscious mind..." is the crux of the matter. Each time you fall into negativity, repeat your affirmations. Better yet, repeat them constantly throughout the day, from the time you get up until you go to bed. I started out with 15 affirmations. I have a lot to change. Besides taking a long time to go through them, this was overwhelming. I still use them but only the ones directed to the activity I'm about to do. I used the "Think Power of the Daily Dozen" from Joe Girard's book, "How To Sell Yourself".

I, also, changed some of them from "I Am Successful", to, "I Choose to be Successful", when my gut feeling or subconscious replied, "Who are you trying to fool, you fool, not me!" Even so, you have to constantly repeat them. Go through the ones pertaining to the activity before you start. When you project positive thoughts, soon others will catch the good vibes coming from you. You'll be influencing others which will better their lives. You'll achieve your Dreams by persistent and consistent auto suggestions of affirmations.

How to Get Out of a Rut - What to Do When Nothing Seems to Work

It is said that the only difference between a rut and a grave is the fact that one is deeper than the other. That may be accurate or not but it is a hard fact that being in either of those place really stinks. The main reason that it does stink is that it creates a feeling that there is no way out of these situations which in turn gives rise to feelings of helplessness, depression, lethargy, apathy, torpor and paralysis.

That's a disempowering scenario and one that has to be changed to an empowering one. Changing from a negative to a positive attitude is not only the first step that must be taken to get out of a rut it may also be the hardest one to accomplish. We can't talk our way out of a bad mood and no one else can do it for us. So we must grab the bull by the horns and do it ourselves.

We said that we can't talk ourselves out of a negative state of mind. If it was that simple, it would have already been done. Auto-suggestion or self-talk will not work but we can trick ourselves into a positive state of mind.

The best way that changing state of mind can be done is by altering our body posture and breathing pattern. Some explanation is needed to understand this concept.

Our physical body and our breathing pattern reflect our state of mind. When we are in a depressed mood, we stand and we breathe like a depressed person and when we are happy and feel like we are standing on top of the world that is what our posture and breathing pattern will reflect. State of mind and bodily posture reflect and reinforce each others.

So if state of mind and body posture influence each other, it then becomes evident that by changing our posture and breathing pattern we will automatically influence and modify our mood or state of mind. So, the first thing to be done to change our mood and get out of a rut is to start standing and breathing like a strong and confident person and thus start transforming our state of mind to a more positive one.

The next thing that needs to be done on our way out of a rut is to write down at least ten tentative solutions for our current problem. Now, most of these solutions might not solve anything but they will certainly change our focus and get us to think about solutions rather than concentrating on the problem.

Once those tentative solutions have been written down, the most promising ones have to be expanded and explored until they lead to a workable applicable solution. A solution does exist and that list is the map that will lead to it. Like all maps, the easiest and most promising route may not be immediately evident but it is in there to be found.

Being stuck in a rut, a morass or a dead end situation is not the end of the road. It simply means that changes must be made, new paths must be explored, new targets and destinations must be sought and, most of all, action, sometimes massive action, must be undertaken. There is always a way out and its our job to find it.

The sun always rises after the sky reached its darkest point and the brightest times in our life always follow the most somber periods. Seasons change so does our reality. Nothing is eternal, least of all periods of hardship. With hope, work and persistence we can change anything. Any lemon can be turned into a lemonade. Now, get out there and do it.

Look For What Makes You Happy Not Just Rich

It is a tough time we keep hearing. But is it? If you think so you have not looked around at the people who are being successful, business that are booming. Yes you may have to change direction but maybe it was time to do that anyway. People think, and I was one of those, that I could never run my own business, or being an entrepreneur is not for people like me! Why not? are you an alien, do you not have a brain like everyone else. It is how we use it that counts.

Searching through the internet can be a frustrating, depressing experience as you just don't know who to trust or where to turn. But you cannot go through life thinking everyone is scamming you or they are all after your money (which you probably don't have anyway) so what have you got to lose. There has to come a time when you take a risk. I did just that and am I so glad. I found a gem, a British company that is on the London Stock market. Now there are good companies out there, find the once that are on the stock market, are doing well and are in an industry that has huge growth and huge growth potential. That is featured in such places as Which magazine which is you the public voting for those in there.

Click onto links and trawl through the information. How long have they been in business, what sort of industry, their growth, their services, do they sound like they care. Go further and chat to someone in the company. When you have all your information then you can take it further. At the end of the day it is up to you. You want financial freedom, we all do, you would like to retire earlier than you ever expected, great time for family and great journeys, live the dream. Many are doing just that, nothing is impossible if you want it enough. This is your life, don't accept what you have if it is not what you want.

Get out there do something about it now rather than later. If I can do it at 62 then anyone can. It does not matter what job you are or were doing you can easily be trained into doing something that will give you a great future and happiness. That is key to me, enjoying what you do and living a great life. Helping others do the same once you are successful is very gratifying and will always add to your success. The most successful people in the world are those who have helped others and given others a helping hand to improve their lifestyles. Remember this quote, change who you are or you will always have what you have got. This is so true, if you don't go for what you want then how can you have more than you have now.

Shoot for the moon even if you miss you will land amongst the stars. I love quotes they are simple and not too long to read and they make me feel good and motivate me too. Go for it become what you want to be.

He intended for the punishment to push him into performing the task, but as he continued to use punishment every time he missed a deadline or did not finish something, he soon learned to associate the punishment with the act of setting the task and not the incompletion of the task. As a result he began setting smaller and smaller goals for himself and achieving less and less.

Case Study #2 - Another client faces a similar challenge in motivating herself to complete some rather boring parts of her detailed plan to achieve her goal. She, however, chooses to reward herself after completing each task. She soon learns to associate the pleasure of these tiny rewards with the act of completing her self -assigned task.

As a result she tries harder to finish her tasks and is always looking for new goals and new things to achieve so that she can enjoy the pleasures that she rewards herself with.

Depriving or punishing yourself for your actions can help you stay on track, but using punishment does not compare to the results you can get by switching to the reward system. Unless the life that you are trying to create for yourself includes depriving yourself of the things that you desire and enjoy, you should stick to the reward principle and rejoice in every opportunity that you can find to celebrate your successes.

Rodney Howard Browne teaches us that there are some legalistic Christians who say that without the law, you cannot be convicted of sin and therefore you cannot be saved. Also, many people, Christian and non-Christian alike, wrongly believe that your good deeds save you and your bad deeds damn you. This is not scriptural. You are saved by faith alone in the precious blood of Jesus and it is the goodness of God that leads you to repentance (Romans 2:4)!

If you are washed in the blood of Jesus Christ, neither circumcision nor uncircumcised counts for anything. Your own works and your own righteousness are worthless. The only thing that counts is your faith, which is activated, energized, expressed, and works through love.

James, inspired by the Holy Spirit, says that you will not be judged by the Law of Moses, but you will be judged under the law of liberty! What is the law of liberty? The Amplified Bible says that it is "the moral instruction given by Christ, especially about love." You will be judged by the Laws of Love! Jesus gave you your New Commandment, to love God and love your neighbor, which fulfills and supercedes all others. Paul repeats it here in Romans 13:10 AMP

Love does no wrong to one's neighbor [it never hurts anybody]. Therefore love meets all the requirements and is the fulfilling of the Law.

Love fulfills the law. When you stand before Jesus at the Judgment Seat of Christ, you will be judged not on whether you kept the law or not, but you will be judged on your love walk! Did you walk in the love of God, which was shed abroad in your hearts by the Holy Spirit? Did you show mercy and grace to other people or did you judge and condemn them?

You set the standard of your own judgment by the way you have treated others. If you have shown mercy, mercy will be shown to you. If you have been hard and judgmental, you will be judged by the same high standards of judgment that you meted out on others.

With this in mind, you would be wise to put a guard over your own mouth and mind your own business. You would be wise to judge your own heart, life and attitude and allow God, alone, to judge those around you. For your own sake, you would be wise to choose a lifestyle of love, mercy and graciousness toward others.

We made all the effort we could but at the end of the day we were disgraced out of the house because the court bailiefs came to pack out our load in our very presence. They came on the order of the court, unknown to us that the land lady had secured such a judgement against us, we continued to live in the house until that fateful morning when they came to throw out our load from the court.

Can you imagine the situation when your properties are packed out of your house where you are known and respected as a responsible man in the society! Even the horror of facing your own very children to explain the situation is almost unbearable, it is a shame of the highest order. That is exactly what my wife and I passed through, it was a tough time for us, but I always remember the phrase credited to Robbert Schuller, "tough times never last but tough people do" I decided to be a toughie, that though those times were tough, I would develop a tougher attitude. I made up my mind to let go of any pride, to build my wealth back even from the ground floor again. I was determined more than ever to make it. Difficulties that I was facing was not sufficient to discourage me or to scare me from planning to do greater things in life.

Suddenly, one day, I was able to get a copy of SUCCESS DIGEST EXTRA, a publication of Success Attitude Development Center, Lagos, Nigeria. I read through with great interest, I soon discovered that a week long workshop on Internet would be taking place late february 2008 tagged Demystifying The Internet IV. I managed to get the money to enrol for the course, I needed more than the amount specified because I would be traveling about less than 200KM to get to the venue and I would also need to prepare or get money ready for my food.

At the end of the week long seminar/workshop, I developed a liking for one of our lecturers, Mrs Iyabo Oyawale who further explained things to me more perfectly at no extra cost. May the Lord bless this dear sister. From then on I began to do one or two things via the internet and the money began to come in little by little, I can tell you to the glory of God that level is changing fast.

No matter the level of the problems and difficulties you are presently going through, it may seem as if your whole world is coming to an end, I have a feeling in my heart that God is saying to you that you will go through.

Let me just share with you the story of my life when I had to completely cast all my cares onto the Lord. I was already doing fine, graduated at the age of 22+ in one of Nigeria's prestigious universities (Unilag), founded a thriving Nursery and primary school in Ibadan, Nigeria, bought cars, and was even giving out cars as gifts to others. I was succeeding by all standard.

All of a sudden, things began to take the negative turn, the enrolment of students in my school began to take the downward trend, you know this means lower income, and that means a lot. Events began to happen one after the other, most of the valuable possessions were either sold, stolen or lost. All these things happened in quick succession, the greatest intension of the devil was to break my heart, discourage me, and make me loose my testimony.

But I was all the more determined to be even more successful despite the torrents of evil things happening, I refuse to allow the negative situations arround me to dictate my mood. I must be frank with you, it was one of the hardest things to do on earth, to keep faith in the face of discouragement from friends and family. It is not easy to be hearing what they are saying and keep the faith, many will say it to your face that you are here because of sin, some will say because you were bad in the first place, others will make jest of you, many will experience their pleasure at your fall. All these should make you to go to work to surprise them that even you can still make it.

Many people who could not even raise up their head when I was talking in the good old days now started coming forward to offer their own advise on how I should run my life. Everybody now turned themselves to my coach, many of the advise were not worthy, infact more than ninety percent had to be thrown away. I was just observing and studying human beings, many thought that was my end, and that nothing good can come out of my Nazareth. Many good old friends would not want to have anything to do with me anymore. I remember going to beg for a soft loan from a very close friend, an amount I figured out he should be able to sqeeze out for me. He not only turned me down, he said some words I will never forget because from what he said you will know that he doesnt believe I can get out of the ruts. But thank God today I did. That was the reason why I reiterated my vow that I will never go a borrow in my life forever.

It got to the climax, I sold my house, my wife and I together with all our children began to live in rented apartment. One day the Landlady made effort to throw out our properties out of her house. To be continued

I am going to illustrate the above statement with a thought provoking story. Two friends Visited India on vacation. While there, they saw lots of people walking on bare feet. One said to the other, “See the level of poverty!” But the other saw a shoe factory. He returned home and began designing shoes, and not only established a shoe factory, which made him a multi-millionaire.

Some see obstacles, while others see opportunities. Never wait for that big break, because it may never come. Build from what you know and love and begin to niche your way to success. No idea is too small to be ignored.

You can make a surprising amount of money from a very small but focused idea, even if others tell you there is no market! We expose ourselves to failure when we foolishly wait for the right opportunity or condition to come before venturing to make a move. There is no guarantee that your life will get better with time; you must take tangible steps to ensure it. The passing of time does not guarantee the improvement of life, but only what is done in the passing time that does.

When we look at a certain object, a painting for example – we won’t be able to appreciate what’s in it, what is painted and what else goes with it if the painting is just an inch away from our face. But if we try to take it a little further, we’ll have a clearer vision of the whole art work. We reach a point in our life when we are ready for change and a whole bunch of information that will help us unlock our self improvement power. Until then, something can be staring us right under our nose but we don’t see it.

The only time we think of unlocking our self improvement power is when everything get worst. Take the frog principle for example – Try placing Frog A in a pot of boiling water. What happens? He twerps! He jumps off! Why? Because he is not able to tolerate sudden change in his environment – the water’s temperature. Then try Frog B: place him in a luke warm water, then turn the gas stove on. Wait til the water reaches a certain boiling point. Frog B then thinks “Ooh… it’s a bit warm in here”.

People are like Frog B in general. Today, Anna thinks Carl hates her. Tomorrow, Patrick walks up to her and told her he hates her. Anna stays the same and doesn’t mind her what her friends says. The next day, she learned that Kim and John also abhors her. Anna doesn’t realize at once the importance and the need for self improvement until the entire community hates her. We learn our lessons when we experience pain. We finally see the warning signs and signals when things get rough and tough. When do we realize that we need to change diets? When none of our jeans and shirts would fit us. When do we stop eating candies and chocolates? When all of our teeth has fallen off. When do we realize that we need to stop smoking? When our lungs have gone bad. When do we pray and ask for help? When we realize that we’re gonna die tomorrow.

The only time most of us ever learn about unlocking our self improvement power is when the whole world is crashing and falling apart. We think and feel this way because it is not easy to change. But change becomes more painful when we ignore it.Change will happen, like it or hate it. At one point or another, we are all going to experience different turning points in our life – and we are all going to eventually unlock our self improvement power not because the world says so, not because our friends are nagging us, but because we realized its for our own good. Happy people don’t just accept change, they embrace it. Now, you don’t have to feel a tremendous heat before realizing the need for self improvement. Unlocking your self improvement power means unlocking yourself up in the cage of thought that “its just the way I am”. It is such a poor excuse for people who fear and resist change. Most of us program our minds like computers. Jen repeatedly tells everyone that she doesn’t have the guts to be around groups of people. She heard her mom, her dad, her sister, her teacher tell the same things about her to other people. Over the years, that is what Jen believes. She believes its her story. And what happens? Every time a great crowd would troop over their house, in school, and in the community – she tends to step back, shy away and lock herself up in a room. Jen didn’t only believed in her story, she lived it. Jen has to realize that she is not what she is in her story. Instead of having her story post around her face for everyone to remember, she has to have the spirit and show people “I am an important person and I should be treated accordingly!”Self improvement may not be everybody’s favorite word, but if we look at things in a different point of view, we might have greater chances of enjoying the whole process instead of counting the days until we are fully improved. Three sessions in a week at the gym would result to a healthier life, reading books instead of looking at porns will shape up a more profound knowledge, going out with friends and peers will help you take a step back from work and unwind. And just when you are enjoying the whole process of unlocking your self improvement power, you’ll realize that you’re beginning to take things light and become happy.

DOUBT AND FEAR

Doubt and fear are twin brothers that hinder people from flowing in the realm of the supernatural. If you are a Bible Scholar, you will notice that each time the lord or an angel appear to a saint, the first word spoken is always “fear not”. To walk with God, you have to learn how to fear not Luke 1:11-13

”And there appeared unto him an angel of the Lord standing on the right side of the alter of incense. And when Zechariah saw him, he was troubled, and fear fell upon him. But the angel said unto him, fear not …”

‘Fear not’ is almost always the first statement from God when He begins to make a personal contact with you at the level of the supernatural. It happened to Mary the same way. Luke1: 26-30.

“And in the sixth month, the angel Gabriel was sent from God …to a virgin… Mary.And the angel said unto her, fear not, Mary: for thou has found favor with God.”

Even when He appeared to Cornelius, he was afraid and the angel had to calm him down by telling him that God had noticed his prayers and ways of life. If you too want to begin to flow in the realm of the supernatural; you must ‘fear not’, whatever the experience. If it is pleased the Lord to visit you through an angel, you must not fear. Another thing is doubt. Somebody said that doubt is the thief of God’s greater blessing. When you receive precious promises from God, believe and do not doubt. Heb. 10:35-36 reads

“Cast not away therefore your confidence which hath great recompense of reward. For ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise.”

Faith is a powerful tool; it will help you in your in the realm of supernatural. Faith in God moves mountain while doubt makes you sink deep into the sea. Cast not your confidence, which you have, in His word and in His promises for your future, hold fast unto the word of His promise. It is very important for you to note these hindrances to the flow, you must be determined, and never to allow any hindrance make you forfeit the benefit of flowing in the supernatural. I therefore urge you to hinder the hindrances and you shall really excel in the realm of the miraculous

One of the tricks the devil pulls is to make you ignorant of divine truth and that is why ‘my people are destroyed because of lack of knowledge’
At a certain point in my life, things got so bad that I was totally confused. At that time, everything I was doing seems to be going wrong. There was problem at home, my business was falling, valuable relationships began to develop problems and on every side, I was faced with failure. I had lost a lot of money in some business deals (more than 3.5 million Naira), one land which I purchased long time ago and I was developing; the plot came up under serious litigation. The people who sold the land were part owners of the land, but not the only ones who have right on the land. The other co-owners took the matter to court and won, meaning that I had lost the right of ownership, though they (the winners) pitied me, yet they took over the land. It was not my fault, I was a victim of the covetous sellers of land who refused to pay back my money; all the money expended in buying blocks, gravel and building to window level, and to develop the plot of land went down the drain. Everything was happening fast and one would have thought that God was partial and uncaring. One day a friend of mine invited me to see a prophet who would pray for me and tell me the secrets of my problem and what I could do to get out of the mess. When we got to the prophet, he told me some deep things most of which were actual facts of my life, I was moved, and I wept. The solution was spiritual, he would do certain rituals which he explained and that he would do it on my behalf, but I must pay him the sum of twenty five thousand Naira. For God’s sake, I was broke – very broke. Ordinarily, that amount of money was not a big deal, but at that particular point in time, it was to me a very big Herculean task. Borrowing money to do such ritual was unthinkable for I hardly go for any type of loan. I went back to my house.

In the morning of the seventh day, which was the deadline or else according to the prophet, my enemies will pull the last trigger and that means they would succeed in killing me. I was troubled and disturbed; I paced back and forth in my office thinking. Without money, the prophet wouldn’t commence the ritual (I call it ritual but they call it prophetic work). As I was walking from one end of my office to another, I got to where my Bible was placed. (I had not read the Bible in three months), on a special impulse, I took the Bible and guess what I? I opened to Isaiah 55, I read the first three verses, I stood still and the Holy Spirit spoke out from the inside of me, trust only in my word and you shall live, for the word works. Let’s see Isaiah 55:1-3.

"Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath not money; come ye, buy and eat; yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price.
Wherefore do ye spend money for that which is not bread? And your labor for that which satisfieth not? Hearken diligently unto me, and eat ye that which is good, ad let your soul delight itself in fatness. Incline your ear, and come unto me: hear and your soul shall live; and I will make an everlasting covenant with you …”

I read those words again and again. The Holy Spirit now began to help me to understand this scripture. I soon knew that my opening to this passage unconsciously was pre-arranged by the Holy Spirit. I was thirsty for a change for better in my life but had no money; here the Holy Spirit was speaking to me through the bible that I should come – without money and without price. I was so convinced that God was speaking directly to me from heaven; this was more authentic to me than the words of any prophet. God was saying to me (and now to you, my beloved reader), come and buy freely, buy wine and milk, buy bread and water, it’s free, because He said, ‘without money and without price’.

As I was meditating on these three verses, the light of God began to shine on the inside of me. If I should buy wine and milk (which I believe represent my solution) freely, why did I then still need to buy it? Why did God not say come and take it freely? Why did He say come and buy it freely and not take it freely? The Spirit enlightened me and said ‘buying activity is a business and serious activity’. The issue off taking it freely makes it less valuable than buying it freely. The act of buying demands a lot of things from you apart from your money, buying activity not only takes your money, it takes your being. You have to go to the market, locate what you want to buy, before then, you already had made up your mind on the product you desired to buy, then you negotiate after you are satisfied with the product. Payment is the last transaction after which you become the rightful owner.

You Can’t Get Something for Nothing

Like the great man Napoleon Hill said, “there is no such reality as something for nothing”; this statement is a universal truth. That is why the spirit said come and buy your wine and milk (this is your joy); your water and bread (which is your life and success), somebody must pay for it. It’s like a multi-millionaire business man telling you to go and buy as much thing as you need without (your own) money, going to buy all those things you desire on his account will cost you nothing; but it cost him (the business man) a lot depending on your purchase. You do the buying and you enjoy the product freely but the businessman had paid for the products.
Why do I need to look for a sum of twenty five thousand Naira to give to a prophet who will not give me permanent solution? That afternoon, I began to pray to God, the outcome of my personal encounter with the Holy Spirit gave birth to a lot of blessings from God into my life, freely, without money and without price. Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ paid the prize. Please note that whatever you will ever need is available, you need no money whatsoever to buy it (them). Jesus has already paid the prize, so go and buy, go for it, the blessings of life is already yours. Thank God, I am alive today and though the prophet warned that my enemies would send the spirit of death on that day, it’s now many years ago, the word works, believe the word. Go and buy your wine and oil, the price had been paid on Calvary. Note: Do not let anyone deceive you; you can buy your blessing freely even today.

Smith Wigglesworth On Power Of The Word

You have all heard me talk about Smith Wigglesworth. He had a major healing ministry in the early to mid 1900's. In my opinion, he was one of the greatest eagles to have ever walked this earth. If God has a hall of fame, this man will definitely be in it. The only book he had ever read was the Bible.

One of the main secrets to his incredible healing ministry was his high level of faith. On a scale of 1-10, he had a perfect 10 - and that is why there were so many mighty miracles in his ministry. He was called the "APOSTLE OF FAITH" because of his high level of faith. He believed everything he read in the Bible and was not afraid to push the envelope with God. One of his favorite sayings was: "If the Spirit doesn’t move me, I’ll move Him."

I recently was reading one of my books on his life when I came upon a message he gave to some younger people. As soon as I read it, I felt it was a word from the Lord. I do not know if he himself was aware of it, but I believe he received a prophetic flow from the Holy Spirit on this message.
He is giving a message on the POWER of the word of God. I’m going to type this out for you because I would consider this a "classic statement" on how powerful the Bible and the individual Scripture verses really are. Here was the message.

The Message

"Fill your head and your heart with the Scriptures. Memorize passages from the Word, with the name of the book, the chapter, and the verse, so that you can quote the Scripture correctly in addresses or in open-air meetings.
As you do this, you are sowing in your heart seeds, which the Spirit of God can germinate. He can bring to your remembrance from time to time that which you have once memorized. You must be so soaked with the Word of God, you must be filled with it, that you yourself are a living epistle, known and read of all men.Believers are strong only as the Word of God abides in them. The Word of God is spirit and life to those who receive it in simple faith, and it is a verifier of all who own its sway. Know your Book, live it, believe it, and obey it. Hide God’s word in your heart. It will save your soul, quicken your body, illumine your mind. The Word of God is full and final, infallible, reliable, and up-to-date, and our attitude towards it must be one of unquestioned obedience. If a thing is in the Bible, it is so; it is not even to be prayed about; it is to be received and acted upon. Inactivity of faith is a robber, which steals blessing. Increase comes by action, by using what we have and what we know. Your life must be one of going from faith to faith."

Conclusion

He had 3 other "pet sayings" which I feel are really catchy. These are true words of knowledge and wisdom.
"Great faith is the product of great fights."
"Great testimonies are the outcome of great tests."
"Great triumphs can only come out of great trials."
The Bible is referred to as the seed of God. Like he says, when you read the Bible, the individual Scripture verses are going into you like seeds. The Holy Spirit will then take the knowledge that is in those verses (seeds) and start what he calls the germination process.
In other words, the Holy Spirit will start to produce fruit and Godly change into your personality and life. But the Holy Spirit always needs knowledge to work with and the individual Scripture verses give Him the knowledge in which He can start the molding and transforming process within you. It’s the Word and the Spirit working together that will start the transformation and sanctification process within each person.

For those who would like to read a good book on this man, there is a small 157 page paperback book titled "Smith Wigglesworth - Apostle of Faith." The author is Stanley Howard Frodsham. You can click on the link and order it from Parable.com Christian bookstore online. It talks about all of his "secrets" and a lot of the unbelievable healings that he had in his ministry.
In addition to the healing ministry that he had, he also was a powerful evangelist and won many souls to the Kingdom of God. He traveled throughout most of Europe and the United States.
In all my research this man, in my opinion, may have been one of the greatest eagles to have ever walked this earth. He truly tapped into the real power of God and God used him mightily in getting people saved, healed and delivered.

The funny thing about him is that most Christians have never heard of him. He was non-denominational. He did not belong to any one Church or denomination and he went wherever the Holy Spirit would lead him. He perfectly followed the leadings he received from the Holy Spirit on a daily basis as to where he should go, what he should do, who he should see, etc.
They say his second secret, besides his high level of faith that was responsible for all of his success, was his ability to mesh with and follow the leadings of the Holy Spirit on a daily basis - and that is what being a real eagle for God is all about. Eagles have to learn to fly on strong wind thermals in order to be able to fly to heights that no other bird can - and Eagles of God have to be able to mesh with and follow the leadings and directions of the Holy Spirit if they want to accomplish great things for God. That is why I call this man a True Eagle of God - because he was able to master the skill of being able to read and move with the Holy Spirit on a daily basis.

The Power Of Prayer

The major key to opening the door of the supernatural is prayer. Prayer means communicating with God, that is, you speak with God. Notice that it is one thing to speak with God and yet another thing to speak to God. In prayers, you speak; you listen to hear from Him. This tells you that prayer is a purely spiritual and a supernatural means of contacting God. You cannot be connected with God if you do not have a purposeful prayer life. Prayer connects you to the heavens. It’s liken to a telephone conversation.

Prayer is not just shouting and talking to the air. Prayer is more than just kneeling down to express your grief and earnest expectation. Prayer is not just reading a prayer book, or following a particular laid down rules of talking.
When you pray, the earlier you understand it as a business the better for you, it is something that is done here (in physical) but then it touches the spiritual.
I can be bold to say that there are some things God will not do if people do not pray. There are some promises that will not be fulfilled except you pray through.
“Thus says the Lord God; I will yet for this be enquired of by the house of Israel, to do it for them…” Ezek. 36:37
If you don’t ask, you cannot receive, Matt 7:7
“Ask and it shall be given to you; seek and ye shall find, knock and it shall be opened unto you”

If you want to flow in the supernatural then ask for it, if you want to operate in the miraculous, ask for it, nothing shall be impossible unto you, if you believe. Let me tell you more about prayers, any time you kneel down to pray to the lord, as a child of God, the host of heaven is already present with you. When you call God, God the father will direct His attention to you and your entire request will be taken to the throne of grace. You need to pray in faith, because without faith it is impossible to please God.

You also need to pray in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. When you call the name of Jesus, every knee will of a necessity bow. When you say “in the name of Jesus”, hosts of hell will all pay attention to you with fear and trembling, ready to carry out any order that follows the name.
When you mention the name of Jesus, even the Angels will be interested in the matter; they will come on the scene (where you are praying). The reason for their presence is very numerous; I will give you two important ones. Firstly, the Angels will be around to carry out any order or assignment that follows the name. Any order in the name must be forcefully (or otherwise) carried out and obeyed. Secondly, Angels will be around anywhere the name is mentioned in other to bow down, to do obeisance to the mighty name. Apart from the presence of Angels, the Holy Spirit will begin to strengthen and encourage the one doing the actual praying.
Not only will the Holy Spirit be present where the name is mentioned, Jesus Christ Himself will be there. He said in John’s Gospel “if you ask anything in my name I will do it”. So Jesus Christ will be there to supervise the Angels in carrying out the assignment.

Hebrews 12:22-24.
“But ye are come unto mount Zion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of Angels. To the general assembly and the church of the first born, which are written in heaven, and to God the judge of all, and to the spirit of just men made perfect. And to the Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling that speaks better things than the blood of Abel.”

Any time you come to the presence of God in prayers (either in group or as an individual), the scriptures above gives you the picture of the heavenly beings that will be around to fellowship with you. You are never alone even though you maybe the only one praying physically.
When you pray therefore, you call upon the name of the Lord, you must be conscious of the presence of heavenly beings. Your thoughts and imagination must rise to the realm of the spirit.
That means from now on, the next time you pray in the name of the Lord Jesus, you must know that even if you had prayed alone, you were not alone. Be expectant of the answers; allow your confidence to rise up. Be bold in the presence of the Lord, you need to show this boldness and confidence because as I have told you above, not only are the host of heaven all around you in the room where you are praying, devil and its hosts are also there. Although, they all bow at the name of Jesus yet will they try to stop you from moving forward in your prayers. They may bring evil thoughts, catalogue of the things you need to attend to urgently. They will always try to hurry you so that you can stop the prayers immediately, since your prayer is done in the name of Jesus, it disturbs the devil from operating in your life and in the lives of your loved ones. So when you pray the devil is not happy, he may bring a bad vision, a frightening vision, or make something like a ghost to appear to inject fear into you. You don’t need to fear at all, please know that as the devil is around, greater hosts of heaven are around and you do not need to be afraid of any of Satan’s deice. Be bold; if any ‘spirit’, or ‘an angel’, appears to you; and you doubt it’s authenticity, call the name of Jesus. If you call the name the devil will flee from you.

What is "power"?

There are many definitions of power. It is the combination of strength and speed. It is the authority to act. It is the product of voltage and current. It is energy per time unit. It is influence or persuasiveness. It is the rate at which work is performed. It is the eleventh album by the rock band Kansas.

Do you know that believers have access to God's power? Yes, the same God who created the universe. Yes, the same power He used to raise Jesus from the grave. The Bible tells us we do (Romans 8:11, Ephesians 3:20, 2 Timothy 1:7, 2 Peter 1:3). If we have access to so much holy power, then why do we so rarely utilize it?

God has given us all we need, not only for life, but for abundant life. There are usually two reasons we do not experience God's eternal power regularly: 1) either we're not properly "plugged in" to the power source, or 2) we're plugged in, but there is a short in our wires somewhere. We have access to God's power all the time, the problem is we neglect to access it.
The power God gives us is difficult to define, but I think it is simply the ability to become more like Christ. This is impossible in us alone. That is why it requires God's power working in us. This power causes us to love God with all our heart, soul, and mind, and to love our neighbor as ourselves (Matthew 22:36-40). This power gives us the ability to serve others. It gives us the ability to overcome sin. It gives us the ability to have self-control. It gives us the ability to persevere.

God's power displayed in mere humans is awesome. If we could experience it in fullness, I think we would want to experience it regularly. So how do we get there? Let's use the word "POWER" as an acrostic to help us remember five disciplines or actions that are crucial to us experiencing God's power: Pray, Obey, Worship, Expect, Remain. If you apply these five actions in increasing measure, you will see God's power manifested in your life.

PRAY

Famous evangelist Billy Sunday is quoted as saying, "If you are strangers to prayer you are strangers to power." We cannot utilize the full power of God if we're not praying. We cannot grow in Christ if we are not praying. If Jesus needed to pray (Mark 1:5, Mark 6:47, Luke 5:16, Luke 6:12), then how much more do you think we need to pray? E.M. Bounds, a great student of and writer on prayer, said, "Prayer is faith taking possession of its unlimited inheritance."
Prayer is powerful (Romans 8:11, Mark, 11:24, Acts 1:14). Prayer doesn't so much change God's mind as it changes our mind toward God. Praying prepares us to see the power of God by getting us ready for God to act (11 Chronicles 20:1-30). Prayer admits our own limitations. This is when God reveals himself to us.

Prayer is commanded (Matthew 26:41, Luke 18:1, Ephesians 6:18, 1 Thessalonians 5:17). Prayer is commanded because it requires humility. Humility is key to God allowing us in his presence. Prayer is also relational, and if we're going to have fellowship with God and others, we need this type of communication. Thus, prayer is a spiritual discipline that our obedience demands.
Prayer has conditions (John 15:7). We must be obedient. We cannot harbor secret sins. We must not be indifferent to the needs of others, but we must show mercy. Self-indulgence will cause failure in prayer. Failure is also caused by our stubbornness and disdain for God's commands.
Prayer is answered (1 Kings 18:37-38, Acts 4:31). Prayer is not always answered the way we would like, but it is answered. You have probably heard the ways God answers prayers: "Yes," "No," or "Wait awhile." The last answer is probably the hardest for us to take, because it requires patience and complete trust.

OBEY

Obedience is how we show our love for God and Jesus (John 14:15-23, 1 John 5:3). This is contrary to the world's way of thinking, but critical to the believer's way. We love because he first loved us (1 John 4:19). Our attitude towards obedience should not be "I have to do this," but rather "I get to do this." Because we know God loves us, we know he only has our best interests at heart. What he commands is for our own good. It may not be the most fun or easiest way, but it is the best way.
Disobedience is one of the sins that prevent God from hearing our prayers. If our prayers are hindered, we cannot fully experience God's power. Obedience is a choice. In the Old Testament, God gave the children of Israel a choice of blessings or curses. They usually chose curses and "reaped the whirlwind." If we have a choice and we know that choice will benefit us greatly, why not choose it?
God will reward our obedience (Ephesians 6:8), though we may not immediately see the reward. In fact, we will not see many of the Bible's promised rewards until eternity. But we will get rewarded, and these rewards are in addition to our salvation. Our hope in a future blessing should help motivate us to obedience.
We struggle with obedience because we have the wrong attitude about it. We obey more out of fear or obligation than out of love. The world and our flesh tell us that obedience is for the lowly, scared, and timid. They say obedience is for animals and is degrading for a human. However, if we change our thought process to understanding obedience is simply an expression of our love, then we will want to be obedient. And as we are more obedient, we will experience more of God's power.

WORSHIP

Worship comes from the word "worthship" which means that we worship that which is worthy (Revelation 4:11). God is the only one worthy of worship. Worship is not for us. We insult God when we act as if worship is to entertain or please us. God should always be the object of our worship and we are the subjects. We relinquish control of our lives and give ourselves to God as an offering. We worship Him because of who he is and what He does.
Worship is basically communion with God where we interact with Him and other believers. It is devotion focused on Him and shared with others. There should be elements of remembering (looking back), expecting (looking forward), and honoring (in the present looking up). Paul D. Adams says worship is the "free and spontaneous response that delights in glorious revelation of God ultimately shown to us in the crucified and risen Christ."
Like prayer and obedience, worship is one of those spiritual disciplines that is not optional. In fact, it is essential. Dwight Bradley put it this way, "When a person worships God, it is as a thirsty land crying out for rain." Worship is a hungry heart seeking love. It is a soul searching for its counterpart.

Worship starts with inward attitude that is often expressed outwardly through praising, singing, etc. (Colossians 3:16). True worship is a balance of the heart and the head (Romans 12:1-2). We worship in "spirit and truth" (John 4:21-24). John Ortberg tells us to "pursue worship that links well-ordered minds with overflowing hearts."
Though worship regularly occurs in church where we come as God's people to respond to him and go to reveal him, location does not really matter in worship. We should have a worshipful spirit all the time. Our service and ministry stem from our worship. Every task, every moment should be an opportunity to worship God. We should do nothing less than worship the source and foundation of our power.

EXPECT

According to Webster's Dictionary, expect means "to look for as likely to occur or appear." It implies a considerable degree of confidence that a particular event will happen. Words in the Bible that are synonymous with expect are faith and hope (Ephesians 6:16, Philippians 1:19-20, Hebrews 11:1).
Having an expectant attitude is a discipline that needs to be developed. Our attitude has such a profound affect on our lives that we need to work to develop a positive one. One of the ways we can do this is by being ever hopeful in all things, even more so in time of struggle or turmoil. James said "consider it joy when you encounter various trials, know that the testing of your faith produces endurance..." (James 1:2).
Satan cannot steal our salvation (heart), so he attacks the mind. His aim is to make us ineffective in our Christian walk. He wants to short-circuit our power outlet by planting seeds of doubt and causing us to become undisciplined. Cynicism, discouragement, bitterness, and anger are the attitudes he would like us to have. As difficult as it is, we must force negative thoughts out of our mind. Negative thinking leads to a sour spirit.
"Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus (Philippians 2:5). Positive Christian thinking is critical (Philippians 4:8). What we think about is what we bring about in our lives. People will not be attracted to the gospel of Christ if it is brought by a bunch of grumpy, gripey people. Let's keep expecting the Lord to do His work in us and keep looking for his eminent return. An expectant heart is a hopeful, happy, powerful heart.

REMAIN

Jesus is the source of all the good things we have through God, including His power. Jesus tells in John 15:4-11 that we have to remain in Him in order to be fruitful. Producing fruit is the evidence of remaining in Him. Jesus also gives us the consequences of not remaining in Him, which are in drastic opposition to remaining in Him (hint: removal, fire, burning).
The Greek word translated "remain" in the NIV is from the word meno. This word is also translated "abide," "continue," "stay," and "dwell." It implies some decision to stay or continue in. It is a choice we make to persevere in our walk with Christ. When we remain or abide in something, we are loyal to it even to death. We keep doing what needs to be done even when it is hard and requires great effort. We do not quit in the midst of the struggle.
Our Christianity is not just a "Sunday thing," but an every day thing. It is not a one-time surrendering but more of an ongoing conversion to the image of Christ. If we are to become like Jesus and bear fruit for Him, we need to remain, stay, abide in Him. We need to "continue in" his word and in the things we have been taught (1 John 2:24, 2 Timothy 3:14). Remaining is a discipline we should choose to do daily if we want to see God's power manifested in us.
It is crucial that we keep our dependence on Jesus and our communion with him. Our dependence on him needs to become habitual. Remaining in him is necessary for producing what is pleasing to God and profitable to us. When our pride tells us we can "go it alone" is when the branch starts to die. There will be no power for godly living if we do not regularly maintain the connection to our power source. Our branch must stay attached to the Vine.
As you review the five disciplines, you may have noticed that all are related. You may have noticed a common thread running through each. The common thread is relationship. A relationship is a connection. These disciplines require a connection to the source of our power. Our power was embodied in and exemplified by Jesus Christ. In Him was all the fullness of the Father, and in Him we come to know and have access to the Father. Maximum spiritual power comes from maximally maintaining our connection (relationship) with God through Christ. All we have to do is choose to do so. Choose POWER.

Overcoming Your Difficulties

Are you going through serious problems and solution seems far from coming to you? Maybe you’ve tried and failed, Doctors have given up on you, the job is not forthcoming, the desired spouse seems far away and you are dying as a single (unmarried) person? Whatever you are going through is designed for your breaking through. The bible says in Rom. 8: 28 that ‘And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them according to His purpose’

All things work together for good. This means all things including your problems, trials, tribulations, weakness and failures. By experience, I know this to be true. Jesus did not promise us a smooth journey but a smooth landing. He told the disciples (after compelling them to get into the boat) to go to the other side. In obedience they were crossing to the other side when this great storm came upon them in the middle of the sea. The fact that God has assigned you to do that thing does not mean you will not encounter trials along the way. Jesus told us in John 16:33

‘… In the world ye shall have tribulations; but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world’

In Psalm 34:19, the bible says

‘Many are the afflictions of the righteous; but the LORD delivereth him out of them all'

The truth is, no life is problem free. There is a proverb that says that ‘the rich also cry’, why do they cry if not because of problem. Even God in the beginning had problems and challenges. Read Gen. 1:1,2

‘In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth; and the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.

We gather form here that there was emptiness (void), formlessness and darkness, this suggest hopelessness and this is a very discouraging situation. But our God was not discouraged. God was not moved. Darkness was all over the place yet God was not perturbed. In that chaotic state, God spoke and said, “let there be light” and true to the word, there was light.

Is your life is full of darkness? Speak light into it. Maybe yours is empty of all blessings, speak forth your blessing, like somebody said speak your way to the peak.
In concluding this article, I want you to know that you are not the first person to have problems; you will not be the last. God is not partial; the problem has been permitted not to break you but to make you. That is the reason the bible says in Eph. 6: 10-12

“Finally my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against …”

The bible says we are wrestling; we are fighting yet many do not know it, some know it, but do not understand it. That is why Paul said, “fight the good fight of faith”. God is good, He is on your side but you must be STRONG not in yourself but in the Lord.

Be very careful of the words that you speak out with your mouth, never utter any word you dont want to happen in your life.

ENJOYING GOD'S PRESENCE

God is a spirit. He operates in the spirit realm. The Spirit realm is what I refer to here as the realms of the supernatural. He wants people (and especially you) to worship Him in spirit and in truth (John. 4:23). He desires constant fellowship with you, constant, communion, and constant praying in the spirit. Let’s examine the ministry of Moses. Exodus 20:21.
“And the people stood afar off, and Moses drew near unto the thick darkness where God was”. You need to stay in God’s presence, people stood afar off, and Moses drew near to where God was. Remember Peter in Mark 14:54
“And Peter followed Him (Jesus) afar off …”. You need to follow Him intimately and closely. You need to enter into His presence and just forget about time, enjoy His presence.

I remember a time, I was praying in the spirit after I had received the baptism of the Holy Ghost. I was just there (in my room, where I was praying) speaking in an unknown language, I had lost the sense of time and my heart was totally enjoying the presence of Jesus. Suddenly, I began to sense the presence of heavenly beings in my room (even though I was no longer conscious of my surroundings) I began to sense the Holy presence of Jesus Christ (I mean physical presence). You know, I felt somewhat afraid at a point, and then I quickly opened my eyes. On the inside of me, I heard the Holy Spirit saying “You are in my presence, so do not be afraid”. I became overwhelmed by the presence of the Lord. In His presence, you don’t hurry, you don’t rush, and you focus on Him alone. You forget every appointment or date you may be having with any mortal, because you are in the most important appointment.
You forget every other thing and allow the Holy Spirit to communicate with you. I know in the beginning, it might not be easy, your mind might wonder from coast to coast. I can understand the reason why the people (of Israel) stood afar off in the scripture (Exodus. 20:21). Sin will cause you not to be free to move closely with Him, you also read the case of Peter. Sin is the only impediment that will make you to follow the Lord afar off. When an angel suddenly appears to you, you can be afraid because he is holy and you’re not. Hence Moses drew nearer to God, he went into the thick darkness where God was.

The people ran away from God’s presence thinking they would die but Moses was not satisfied with seeing periphery manifestation of God’s spirit, he wanted to get deep into God. He wanted to get to the higher realm.

From today onwards, decide to have a time in the day when you consciously walk into the presence of God. Have a fun filled day.

THOMAS EDISON

Folks, today is another day to learn from another person called THOMAS EDISON who invent the first light bulb. He is a great man indeed. Pals let bend low & learn from an higher source of life.Early LifeThomas Edison was born in Milan, Ohio, and was raised in Port Huron, Michigan. He was the seventh and last child of Samuel Ogden Edison, Jr. (1804–1896) (born in Marshalltown, Nova Scotia, Canada) and Nancy Matthews Edison nee Elliott (1810–1871). His family was of Dutch origin.[1]
In school, the young Edison's mind often wandered, and his teacher, the Reverend Engle, was overheard calling him "addled." This ended Edison's three months of official schooling. He recalled later, "My mother was the making of me. She was so true, so sure of me; and I felt I had something to live for, someone I must not disappoint." His mother then home schooled him.[2]

Much of his education came from reading R.G. Parker's School of Natural Philosophy and The Cooper Union.Edison developed hearing problems at an early age. The cause of Edison's deafness has been attributed to a bout of scarlet fever during childhood and recurring untreated middle ear infections. Around the middle of his career Edison attributed the hearing loss to being struck on the ears by a train conductor when his chemical lab in a boxcar caught fire, and was thrown off the train in Smiths Creek, Michigan, along with his apparatus and chemicals. In his later years he modified the story to say the injury occurred when the conductor, in helping him onto a moving train, lifted him by the ears.[3][4]Edison's family was forced to move to Port Huron, Michigan, when the railroad bypassed Milan in 1854,[5] but his life there was bittersweet.

He sold candy and newspapers on trains running from Port Huron to Detroit, as well as vegetables that he sold to supplement his income. This began Edison's long streak of entrepreneurial ventures as he discovered his talents as a businessman. These talents would eventually lead him to found General Electric, which is still a publicly traded company, and 13 other companies.Edison became a telegraph operator after he saved three-year-old Jimmie MacKenzie from being struck by a runaway train. Jimmie's father, station agent J.U. MacKenzie of Mount Clemens, Michigan, was so grateful that he trained Edison as a telegraph operator. Edison's first telegraphy job away from Port Huron was at Stratford Junction, Ontario, on the Grand Trunk Railway.[6] In 1866, at the age of 19, Thomas Edison moved to Louisville, Kentucky, where as an employee of Western Union he worked the Associated Press bureau news wire. Edison requested the night shift at work which allowed him plenty of time to spend at his two favorite pastimes -- reading and experimenting. Eventually, the latter pre-occupation cost him his job. One night in 1867, he was working with a battery when he spilled sulphuric acid onto the floor. It ran between the floorboards and onto his boss' desk below. The next morning he was fired.[7]One of his mentors during those early years was a fellow telegrapher and inventor named Franklin Leonard Pope, who allowed the impoverished youth to live and work in the basement of his Elizabeth, New Jersey, home.Some of Edison's earliest inventions were related to telegraphy, including a stock ticker. His first patent was for the electric vote recorder, (U. S. Patent 90,646),[8] which was granted on June 1, 1869.[9]

On December 25, 1871, at the age of 24, Edison married 16-year-old Mary Stilwell, whom he had met two months earlier. It was the first institution set up with the specific purpose of producing constant technological innovation and improvement. Edison was legally attributed with most of the inventions produced there, though many employees carried out research and development work under his direction. His staff was generally told to carry out his directions in conducting research, and he drove them hard to produce results.
The large research group, which included engineers and other workers, based much of their research on work done by others before them.William J. Hammer, a consulting electrical engineer, began his duties as a laboratory assistant to Edison in December 1879. He assisted in experiments on the telephone, phonograph, electric railway, iron ore separator, electric lighting, and other developing inventions. However, Hammer worked primarily on the incandescent electric lamp and was put in charge of tests and records on that device. In 1880, he was appointed chief engineer of the Edison Lamp Works. In his first year, the plant under General Manager Francis Robbins Upton turned out 50,000 lamps. According to Edison, Hammer was "a pioneer of incandescent electric lighting."Nearly all of Edison's patents were utility patents, which were protected for a 17 year period and included inventions or processes that are electrical, mechanical, or chemical in nature. About a dozen were design patents, which protect an ornamental design for up to a 14 year period. Like most patents, the inventions he described were improvements over prior art. The phonograph patent, on the other hand, was unprecedented as the first device to record and reproduce sounds.[18] Edison did not invent the first electric light bulb, but instead invented the first commercially practical incandescent light. Several designs had already been developed by earlier inventors including the patent he purchased from Henry Woodward and Mathew Evans, Moses G. Farmer,[19] Joseph Swan, James Bowman Lindsay, William E. Sawyer, Sir Humphry Davy, and Heinrich Göbel. Some of these early bulbs had such flaws as extremely short life, high expense to produce, and high current draw, making them difficult to apply on a large scale commercially.

In 1878, Edison applied the term filament to the element of glowing wire carrying the current, although English inventor Joseph Swan had used the term prior to this. Edison took the features of these earlier designs and set his workers to the task of creating longer-lasting bulbs. By 1879, he had produced a new concept: a high resistance lamp in a very high vacuum, which would burn for hundreds of hours. While the earlier inventors had produced electric lighting in laboratory conditions, dating back to a demonstration of a glowing wire by Alessandro Volta in 1800, Edison concentrated on commercial application, and was able to sell the concept to homes and businesses by mass-producing relatively long-lasting light bulbs and creating a complete system for the generation and distribution of electricity.The Menlo Park research lab was made possible by the sale of the quadruplex telegraph that Edison invented in 1874, which could send four simultaneous telegraph signals over the same wire. When Edison asked Western Union to make an offer, he was shocked at the unexpectedly large amount that Western Union offered; the patent rights were sold for $10,000. The quadruplex telegraph was Edison's first big financial success.In just over a decade Edison's Menlo Park laboratory had expanded to consume two city blocks. Edison said he wanted the lab to have "a stock of almost every conceivable material." A newspaper article printed in 1887 reveals the seriousness of his claim, stating the lab contained "eight thousand kinds of chemicals, every kind of screw made, every size of needle, every kind of cord or wire, hair of humans, horses, hogs, cows, rabbits, goats, minx, camels...silk in every texture, cocoons, various kinds of hoofs, shark's teeth, deer horns, tortoise shell...cork, resin, varnish and oil, ostrich feathers, a peacock's tail, jet, amber, rubber, all ores..." and the list goes on.[20]Over his desk, Edison displayed a placard with Sir Joshua Reynolds' famous quote: "There is no expedient to which a man will not resort to avoid the real labor of thinking."[21] This slogan was reputedly posted at several other locations throughout the facility.With Menlo Park, Edison had created the first industrial laboratory concerned with creating knowledge and then controlling its application.Carbon telephone transmitterIn 1877-1878, Edison invented and developed the carbon microphone used in all telephones along with the Bell receiver until the 1980s. After protracted patent litigation, in 1892 a federal court ruled that Edison -- and not Emile Berliner -- was the inventor of the carbon microphone. (Josephson, p146). The carbon microphone was also used in radio broadcasting and public address work through the 1920s.Electric lightMain article: History of the light bulbAfter many experiments with platinum and other metal filaments, Edison returned to a carbon filament. The first successful test was on October 22, 1879;[22] and lasted 13.5 hours. Edison continued to improve this design and by November 4, 1879, filed for U.S. patent 223,898 (granted on January 27, 1880) for an electric lamp using "a carbon filament or strip coiled and connected ... to platina contact wires."[23] Although the patent described several ways of creating the carbon filament including "cotton and linen thread, wood splints, papers coiled in various ways,"[23] it was not until several months after the patent was granted that Edison and his team discovered a carbonized bamboo filament could last over 1200 hours.Edison bought light bulb U.S. patent 181,613 of Henry Woodward that was issued August 29, 1876 and obtained an exclusive license to Woodward's Canadian patent. These patents covered a carbon filament in a rarefied gas bulb.[citation needed]Edison in 1878In 1878, Edison formed the Edison Electric Light Company in New York City with several financiers, including J. P. Morgan and the members of the Vanderbilt family. Edison made the first public demonstration of his incandescent light bulb on December 31, 1879, in Menlo Park. It was during this time that he said, "We will make electricity so cheap that only the rich will burn candles."[24]George Westinghouse's company bought Philip Diehl's competing induction lamp patent rights (1882) for $25,000, forcing the holders of the Edison patent to charge a more reasonable rate for the use of the Edison patent rights and lowering the price of the electric lamp.[25]On October 8, 1883, the U.S. patent office ruled that Edison's patent was based on the work of William Sawyer and was therefore invalid. Litigation continued for nearly six years, until October 6, 1889, when a judge ruled that Edison's electric light improvement claim for "a filament of carbon of high resistance" was valid. To avoid a possible court battle with Joseph Swan, whose British patent had been awarded a year before Edison's, he and Swan formed a joint company called Ediswan to manufacture and market the invention in Britain.The Mahen Theatre in Brno in what is now the Czech Republic, was the first public building in the world to use Edison's electric lamps, with the installation supervised by Edison's assistant in the invention of the lamp, Francis Jehl. [26]Thomas Edison died At 9 P.M. On Oct. 18th, 1931 in New Jersey. He was 84 years of age. Shortly before passing away, he awoke from a coma and quietly whispered to his very religious and faithful wife Mina, who had been keeping a vigil all night by his side: "It is very beautiful over there..."
